Rumor Is Indiana Jones Planning an Adventure to Disney's Animal Kingdom?

After reading everything here and looking at all the rumors, I really don't think this rumor has any legs. I have been to Pandora and it is (in my opinion) amazing and it does fit animal kingdom even the rides fit the mission, but the stretch it would take to make Indy work I can't even see Disney making. (I know guardians at EPCOT) but EPCOT is in an identity crisis, and animal kingdom is pretty sound. Dino area needs help but I think Dinosaur area done better is all it needs.

I don't think it would attract any more people than Dinoland(after the initial 'newness' has gone at least, and just that popularity, which will only last a year or so, will cost a lot, a bit too much).

I mean, you swap Dinosaur for what is basically the same ride(just one that isn't thematically appropriate), then a second ride that will basically be the same(the looping coaster from Paris probably, another off-the-shelf, badly themed coaster, like, Primeval Whirl) - so no more has really been added, and it will cost a lot of money to add a bit if popularity, but even that popularity will fade after a year or so, until it is the same as Dinoland once was, so there really isn't any point.

Leaving Indy not fitting in AK aside.... I don't know if I agree with you on Indy Adventure not being more popular than Dinosaur to the extent that they think it will work better. Everytime I'm in Disneyland, it always has a pretty lengthy line and that's in a park that has many other rides to do. And also the fact that I hear many people literally say that Indy Adventure is their favorite ride of all time. I just think you're underwhelming the popularity of Indy adventure vs. Dinosaur a bit too much.

No, I know about Mystic Manor not fitting. I'm just saying Mystic Manor for example if my idea of Animal Kingdom becoming more of an extension of Adventureland. Where would Mystic Manor go in Magic Kingdom if it did end up getting built there? Adventureland. That's where the example came from.

If Mystic Manor was put in Magic Kingdom, it would be put in a new miniland, like in Hong Kong, which would probably either be on the Rivers of America(past Big Thunder) or on a new extension, past Fantasyland, on the north east of the park.

It isn't about being adventurous(though that is how the guy got all of his stuff in the ride), it is about the magic and mystery.

I agree....Dinosaurs are popular, always will be to kids. I don't see them kicking dinosaurs out of the park. Redo the land....I can see that.

Putting Indy in another section... I can see that. I just don't see it happening anytime soon.

I do agree that Indiana Jones Adventure is more popular than Dinosaur, but Dinosaur is still very popular, and it just wouldn't be worth the money to retheme it to Indy for the small amount of popularity it would gain. Why would you not close a less popular attraction, if you must add Indy to Animal Kingdom?

See, again, I don't think I agree with you with Dinosaur being very popular... I don't know. Whenever I'm there (and I'm in WDW a lot during the year) It's never more than a 20 minute line or it's basically just walk on with only needing to see the preshow video and then maybe a 5 minute line to get on the car. Maybe I could be getting lucky every time I'm in Animal Kingdom, but I doubt it. Especially in a park that has very little rides you would think it would be a long wait all the time. Almost like the problem they have at HS where RnRC, ToT and Midway Mania are usually lengthy waits due to not much in that park. Or Epcot and the horrible wait times of TT and Soarin'

My biggest problem with Indy in AK is that Animal Kingdom is about seeing the beauty in animals, even the dangerous ones. The Indy franchise utilizes them for gross, creepy-crawly factor (which is okay in that medium, but certainly not for Animal Kingdom...)
No "Indy's Creepy Crawly Petting Zoo" for you!

You go wait over there! >>>>>>

Wait times do get to around 50+ at the peak during the day in summer, but it's always easy to get on before 10:00 and after 18:00 or 19:00 - it is of course less during off-peak times of the year.

I'm sure its been said quite a number of times, and I've replied to a few FB news posts from Dis Dining and Doctor Disney on this subject.

Animal Kingdom is no place for Indiana Jones ride to be replicated from Disneyland or shoe-horned into the existing Dinosaur facility. First off... park theming. Yes Pandora is an IP not necessarily about animals, but Joe R stretched the AK theming definition to put it into the park, based on the exotic horticulture and the Navi & Banshee not being human. Indy is more appropriate in Studios or Adventure Land. Adventure land doesn't have the land for the build out, unless the bulk of the show building is put between the backstage Carribean Way road and the canal.

Has anyone setup a poll on here whether its a good/bad idea to bring that attraction to FL??

Have you actually been on Dinosaur?

I have been on both and Indy is infinitely better in every way. The queue, the ambience, the story, the FX, and the overall design. There's no comparison as to which one is a more engrossing and high quality experience. Dinosaur is fun, make no mistake. But it's definitely not as well done as Indy.

I think Indy would fit in at Animal Kingdom. I remember thinking Maharaja Jungle Trek, Kali River Rapids and Everest all reminded me of Indy the first time I visited AK. So it definitely could work. I do think an Indy-specific themed land would be a much better fit at the Studios. But it would totally work at AK, too. There's no denying that it would be a huge hit with guests regardless of where it goes.

I'd like to chat about this Indy Hotel rumor....

I think this is honestly more interesting to me than the Star Wars hotel. While it is true that the Star Wars films have a greater 'galaxy of stories' potential than the Indy films, I envision an Indy Hotel as being a more flexible and potent venue.

Essentially, don't think of it as an Indy hotel, think of it as a Casablanca / Adventurer's Club / Mystic Manor hotel. It could be adjacent to the Indy land, but not necessarily feature the Indy character (maybe his influence is there as much as it is at Jock Lindsay's). There will apparently be costumes available for Star Wars hotel guests. Could the same thing be available for Indy hotel guests? Who wouldn't like to go to a hotel looking like this?

Yes, that last shot is tower of terror concept art. But instead of a Hollywood hotel trying to look exotic, it would be an actual exotic palace, populated with all sorts of interesting characters, mysteries, challenges, secret passages, and adventures.

Let's look at this another way - if you were going to select some IP to support a Disney 360 resort attached to Animal Kingdom, what kind of costumes would you like your guests to 'infect' the adjacent park with? 1930's adventurers is the best thing I can think of. :)

Could you not put it between Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash Mountain?

.

I think people are only thinking about aesthetics when deciding if Indy would fit, but surely the main priority is theme. I agree that Indy would look good aesthetically in Animal Kingdom, but the theme is where the problem is at.
