why do you think..

that when you are at a restaurant, and you say.. gees I need a refill on my drink, it suddenly appears..

WDW does have plainclothes security in the parks.
As to the topic of terrorism, if anyone on this forum knew of Disney's existing plans on how to react to an attack, it wouldn't be a very good plan, would it?

Disney World is the most happiest place on earth. Even the most cold hearted terrorist knows this and wouldn't bother to touch such a happy place

Theme parks, like shopping malls, are nowhere near the top of terrorists' target lists.

I would have to disagree with you. Disney World I feel can be a prime target. What would be better for them than to strike at the heart of the worlds greatest family tourist spot? I don't want to start a huge debate but from all I have learned and been trained it, I am positive this is a matter Disney is aware of.

You really don't think that there is someone monitoring your conversation while you eat at Disney do you? :lookaroun

Do you also think that they have cameras on the toiletpaper dispensers so they can bring you a fresh roll?

Perhaps they really have cameras on all the toilets so they can remotely flush them when you are done.

Perhaps we should label all of America as the "most happiest" place on earth. We would then be safe from all harm and chicanery.

Disney has people inside and outside of the parks DAILY that keep a eye on all guests.

I know first hand working at AK that they generally had two people outside the gates carrying, ex. bags, packs, umbrellas, anything the typical guest would have just so they blend in. If you look close enough they are walkie talkied up and all that jazz.

I was told also by a manager of mine they have the same people inside the parks that ride ride, buy food, exc. taking notes to make sure everyone is doing the basics. IDK if I believe this part, but the first part is 100% true.

Hmmm, blend in with the crowd, watch people, go to restaurants, visit attractions ... I want this job! I'd do it for free park admission and meals!

I'm pretty sure I saw some suspicious activity over in the Splash Mountain FastPass area. I'm going to have to go through the line and attraction again.

I'm not saying never to be wary of such a chance, but in the 40 years since it's been there how much of a problem has there been. I'm not just talking about Middle East terrorists, but even local ones. Has there been incidents of gunfire or stabbings or anything there? And if so, how many? I mean it just seems like a weird place to do such a thing.

Not saying you shouldn't be prepared at all times from the unexpected, and I am sure Disney has that covered

trust me .. they monitor conversations.. and its been discussed here years ago..

oh.. my drink is empty.. where is the waitress.. suddenly.. here is your drink.. or I wish we had more.. butter.. etc.. and magically it appears..

Las Vegas has photo recognition.. and Disney has a better camera system then all of Vegas.. because they own the whole system.. oh and they hire the best and they follow the BESTS" recommendation to a TEE>>> that way there is no mistake.. no let down.. no failures.. and at Disney..its much easier to hide cameras.. its all a big disguise..

Disney tracks every thing you do. what rides.. how many times. what parks, when.. when you come.. what your name is, your kids name is, their birthdays.. Your birthday.. Your home town.. where you live. is this part of the advertizing zone.. you take a survey.. do you have cable? or satellite?
the internet.. they track you on the internet.. how often do you go to their site..

Disney advertizes heavily in the New York and Chicago/ Milwaukee areas.. when it snows, the more tv ads appear.. the same with those areas newspapers.. they know that these people need to leave the snow for relief.. and they have money.. or have been coming to Florida since before WDW..

so they push those areas of the country.. heavily.. it doesn't pay to advertize in Montana or those mountain states. .too far to come.. too expensive...

they know people will drive two days.. three is too much.. for a consistant vacation..

just call them.. ask them what they know about you.. heck the Disney stores used to track you as well.

There are many procedures and measures in place to protect the property and its Guests and Cast Members. For obvious reasons, details are not made public.

It's weird...but I feel really uncomfortable that this thread even exists. lol. There's a part of me that is concerned that some terrorist will read this thread (because, of course, they ALL browse WDWMagic.com) and think to themself, "Hmmm...I've never thought of that, but those people make good points about it being a good target...".

Am I the only paranoid one??? lol

I've been thinking the same thing. I hope Disney is watching me and everyone. Well maybe not in the shower, but you know what I mean!

Absolutely yes!!! Last year, my ex and I had a disagreement after spectromagic and I started crying really bad. I walked over to the side away from the crowd and within seconds a plain clothes person walked over and identified himself and said was everything ok. Needless to say, I was embaresed because I cried in front of thousands of people on Main Street USA, lol.

I work at a Cedar Fair park and we get our fair share of not so nice guests from Philly and NYC all day long, we have plain clothes security that watch for people all day long and the other departments games and operations have plain clothes people throughout the park to make sure that their employees are doing their jobs too. Its pretty common and amazing how little people actually pay attention to what people are doing around them and who is around them.

NY and Philly has always been a robust supplier of "not so nice guests"

Paranoid much?

Sorry, but I don't remember this being seriously discussed here, and if it was it was surely debunked as an urban legend.

That has got to be the MOST asinine statement I've ever read on this forum.
