Is Disney Quest any good?

I am returning to the world sept. 5/08 and I have never been to DQ in my previous visits because I didn't want to pay the admission, however this time it is included in my hopper pass. I was just wondering if it is any good and should I allot much time for it or is it something I can just breeze through in an hour?

No, one hour will not be enough. My son really enjoys DQ, but so do my parents who are 60! Maybe plan on 2-3 hours. If you don't like it, you can always leave.

get there as soon as it opens, do the create a coaster as many times as possible (until the crowd builds up) then hit buzz lightyear's astroblasters.

honestly those are really the only fun things to do there

*welcomes an espn zone takeover*

We spent quite a while at the classic arcade machines last year because we're dorks. The create a coaster is pretty fun too.

Other than that... well I loved the Wonderland Cafe, but I don't think it's still there.

If they are still there do the pirates simulator and the rapids simulator. Those are both really cool.

While I enjoy the rapids simulator, riding it too many times hurts my back a lot. PoTC is kind of fun, Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters is cool if you can figure it out (my sister and I made an awful pair), and the virtual roller coaster is ok (I don't like it, my sister does).

Disneyquest is worth a visit if you've never been there. But don't expect too much out of it. The park isn't as high-tech as it seemed 9 or 10 years ago.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
I loved the Astroblasters, but I got really sick afterwards and had to leave. Major bummer, since that was only the second ride we went on...

If you have kids, it's worth it just for the free arcade machines (so they don't rack up a bill elsewhere), but CyberSpace Mountain, PotC, Jungle Cruise, and Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters are worth doing once more if you enjoyed them.

An hour is doable but you wont get on everything if thats your intention, DQ's bigger than it looks.

Also how much you want to do there depends on how much you care for all the neat little games and stuff.

Must Do Rides at DQ

Jungle Cruise (if your with a group)
Pirates (also a group game)
Buzz's AstroBlaster
The create-a-coaster (Cyberspace mountain)
The Arcade
Alien Encounter (Group again)

DQ can be fun but admittedly most of it's fun is to be had if you have family or a group with you, as the group rides are a lot of fun.

Also they have an area where you can learn to draw Disney characters. It's fun but also consumes a lot of time. But it's a lot more relaxing than the other stuff there

BTW if you've got kids along that wanna go, be aware that you can leave and re-enter whenever you wish. My parents liked DQ but the noise got to them sometimes. So usually they'd escape to Virgin Megastores and join us again later. So your not bound to stay in the place

ive been to DQ i think 2 or 3 times and i dont really plan on going back. it was amusing but like people have been saying, its not all that exciting anymore. im a video game fan, particularly FPS and so i like alien encounter. ive never done the roller coaster thing becuase its always been a long line. ive never spent more than 2 hours there. if im gonna be waiting in line, id rather it be for a real ride, than a virtual ride! but yeah if you got time and its included, why not check it out

My husband and I had a great time when we went there. The virtual coaster is a lot of fun, we did that a bunch of times. I really like the pirates ride, but like it was said it is a group game, but we just went in with a family. The water rafting is fun. I REALLY liked the Buzz Light year Astroblasters.... Is that what it is called? That was so fun. Our friends went with us one night and they got stuck in the forbidden zone and kept spinning around in circles and we could see them arguing with each other while we just sat there shooting at them. The virtual superheroes game is a lot of fun, but I stunk at it, the alien encounter is fun, but it was just me and my husband... we still had fun but it would have been better with a large group. I also thought that the Aladdin carpet rides were fun... There is a lot of stuff to do there, we spent about half a day there, but then I guess it depends on if you like arcades or not.:D

I recommend it, if you or someone in your group likes video games. I think 2-3 hours is a good amound of time to spend there.

Helpful Tips

I must tell you, I do not respond to many threads but being an ex-CM of DQ I must. If you want to do DQ, you must give it some time. It will not take you all day but half a day. As someone else pointed out, start off with Space Mountain (create a coaster)on 2nd floor. After head to the 1st Floor and do Jungle Cruise, then Pirates of the Carribean (can be ridden as single or tell the CM you want auto pilot), then I would go to the 2nd Floor to Aladdin's Magic Carpet (make sure you are not motion sick). Then head upstairs to the 5th floor and do Alien Encounter (basically sitting and shooting). If open on the 5th floor do Ride the Comix (motion sickness) or if closed go to the one on the 4th floor. The 4th floor has all of the basic video games, etc. Then head to the 3rd floor and do Mighty Ducks Pinball slam and save Buzz Lightyear's Astroblaster for last. Throughout the building there are other things like Sids create a toy, animation academy, and create a song (all on the 2nd floor), old arcade games, etc. That is just my suggestion. By the way, DQ is the best place to work if you work for Disney.

Hmmm seems that people like it!! I am also going in Sept! I'm not 100% sure it's included in my pass, but I think it is! I have never had any interest in it at all. But if it's included perhaps I will try it one evening. See what all the hype is over this coaster building thing.

Holey Moley! Nothing on property makes me sicker than that thing. Something about thinking you're moving, but you're really not, that makes me really want to launch out my pop tarts.

I LOVE DQ...the Disney one and the ice cream shop ha. The place is awesome, free games, rides, good atmosphere, loads of stuff to do, good for families and groups, and it's cheap! One of my favorite things on WDW property that most people don't know about or do.
