Is Captain EO gone?

Could George Lucas have anything to do with Captain EO still hanging around?

They should have asked him why Alien Encounter isn't...He did work on that as well..

Why don't they just add a ride that mentions all of these outdated attractions so that everyone is happy.

Yes, they should take the Wonders building and create a new pavilion dedicated to all the old-beloved attractions and have Starbucks be the sponsor. Think of the profit Disney could make on the Hipster crowd. But then again, we all liked those attractions before it was cool;)

You know.. I tried coming back on all of you with a "remember when everyone was getting hyped about Captain EO returning and now everyone wants it gone already?" post... But... Suffice to say, I am wrong.

I'd rather have TDO spend money on a new (or improved) product that be in the moribund business with EO....

But the movie its self really isn't relevent. Its cheesy, and absolutly REEKS of the 80s. It really does not have a timeless feel to it at all.

Could care less about Captain EO. Hope it does not return.

I agree! Why bring back an old movie when we can get something new and exciting for all fans? I just don't think that bringing back Captain EO is a good move.

Don't need EO - bring in something new!!

Here's a link to watch it on You Tube:

Watch it if you dare. You won't like it. But at least you'll be able to confirm how bad it is.

I watched Martin's EO tribute last night because I never saw it before.

thanks, Martin. I love all your videos.

BUT.....

not only is EO cheezy, it's LIMBERGER cheezy.:hurl:

Sorry, Martin, its not your fault.

Wow that totally backfired before I had a chance to get sources.

...These forums are really depressing and annoying. I need something to cheer me up...

Or, not search back through four year-old posts....

I agree with the sentiment others have written that it's better to have EO in Epcot than another dead pavilion. My major gripe is that there seems to be no indication that WDW has something in the works for the theater to replace EO. That they'd be happy letting people wallow in that nostalgia versus creating something that is truly worthy of being in an area dedicated to looking towards the future.

@GrumpyFan - in answer to your titular query - alas, Captain EO is gone forever....However, he lives on thanks to the magic of film. It is all we have, but I say, hang on with all your might, close your eyes and dream. We can change the world, man. Don't ever forget it.
You've obviously mistaken me for an EO fan. I assure you, I am not! While the film had an appeal for it's time, that time has long since passed and it should be relegated to a museum. I would certainly like to change the world and install something new in place of EO!

It's going to be a 3D Duffy movie.

Duffy is an evil clone hybrid of Teddy Ruxspin and the Snuggle Fabric Softener Bear.
And he is here to change the world....
