Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

It’s frustrating that food and drink between approximately 10 pm and 7 am give or take an hour is so hard to come by at these resorts likely as a product of what they consider too low demand, when these aren’t regular hotels. They have a much higher proportion of people who don’t have their own transportation and also who have no intention of patronizing any outside vendors for anything. I take issue with the fact that they can’t keep drink machines and a fridge with some basic food choices open just for something given the way they encourage people to be ‘trapped’.

Pre-pandemic, leaning into that designed seclusion provided opportunities for the “Disney Difference” to bring in revenues and loyalty to the WDW brand.

Post-pandemic, those opportunities are largely accounted as liabilities to be managed, and Disney is not agile enough to resolve the customer fallout.

Well thanks for thinking I’m young, you made my day!!

( You have me scared now what’s gonna happen? )

😱😱😱😱
You’re gonna stop ever eating past 7pm and for no good reason start waking up 5:30am

Getting up twice every single night to pee is a possibility.

Foods you used to enjoy become foods that annoy digestion

Should I stop here or continue down the list?

A number of vacationers tend to overeat , drink and or eat more of the not so approved foods by the doctor. One item we noticed being offered when we cruised at the buffets was the good ol' laxative - prunes.

Received an email from a Good Neighbor Hotel about 30 minutes ago - Get an additional 10% off their best available rate this summer when you book a minimum of 3 nights.

I'm trying to book a couple weeks stay at an onsite value in September or into early October and there's extremely limited discounted options coming up. Not sure what "strategic" games they are playing with room reservations but it's annoying.

1. Operational changes to dining meaning reduced capacity (lower staffing, reduced hours, fewer offerings) at certain locations.
Part timers being furloughed from what I've heard from friends.
2. A tiny admission of overly-ambitious pricing: rack rates ticking down on some future dates... including lots of deluxe "adjustments."
The free dining didn't move the needle and no one, other than corporate bookings pays rack rates. So maybe some more extensive and public discounting would get more people interested.

But they did this to themselves once people figured out that you get no advantages to staying on property while at the same time you get a better and cheaper experience outside the Disney bubble.

How dare you suggest such a thing. You simply need to spend $800/night on a Disney "Deluxe" resort and you get a MAGICAL!!! 30 extra minutes in each park, every morning! That's the advantage of all advantages, given how packed the parks are on a daily basis! Plus, some nights you can spend an additional 2 hours in a park (just don't expect to be able to purchase anything or get any food or drinks). If that doesn't scream, "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!", you're just a hater. Or so we've been told.

Getting rid of MDE is going to save us sooo much money!!!

I wonder if they got promoted or fired. (Probably promoted then laid off).

My suspicion is that they’ve found the scheduled extra evening hours sate most guests’ desire for a couple of late nights at the more popular parks while increasing the value prop of the deluxe resorts and reducing the labor needed to staff everything.
I don't think sate is probably the right word. They found ways to monetize evening hours, and to decrease the value of a day ticket. Where a day ticket used to include FP and lots of extended park hours, now it only gets you in the door to stand in stupidly long standby lines much of the day.

Part of what I was getting at though is that the G+ product itself makes PM hours less attractive. If I am in a park at 2pm, and all of the G+ bookings are sold out for the day, then there is little incentive for me to stay in the park. If standby waits all drop off at 5pm, it won't help.

I've been in HS plenty of times when the worthwhile G+ were sold out by 1pm. If I can't get Slinky, MMRR, TSM, or ToT, there is no reason to stay. Epcot at least has food. AK at least has animals.

The last time we tried an early entry with the “new” 30m window, we were staying at Beach Club, had to wait > 30m for a boat, got to DHS about 20 before park open, spent most of that time walking around to and then standing in a security line… made it to the turnstiles right around actual park open. Meanwhile, they’ve also dramatically cut back on evening hours.

Not everything is open during early entry either. More than half of each park isn't open until 9am or whenever that park opens.

Dont really know where to put this but what is up at Disney World. Litteraly every big ride you queue for for an hour breaks down. This is a terrible waste of time… 7th time now in 2 days

This is the perfect place to put this, since it is most likely one of the biggest reasons attendance at WDW is down: remembered frustration from previous trips. I hope things improve for you.

1) Low capacity in the parks means it creates problems taking attractions off line for routine/required maintenance
2) Selling line skipping service means you have to give guests a value added proposition (access to rides) which also creates pressure to increase capacity options
3) after hours maintenance crews are a high cost on the labor ledger, and a revenue drainer
