Hell on a Saturday…
See there. Crowds this week prove Iger is doing a fabulous job and there is no need for concern.

You can tell from Josh’s pop up video on the resort tv just how happy he is.

Most will say it’s just because it’s the holiday season, but I think we all know people are flocking there to experience Moana’s fountains and see the Rainforest Cafe Tiana’s Mountain construction progress

So if we compare Jan. ‘22 through Apr. 22 to Jan. ‘23 through Apr. ‘23, we see more red in ‘23.

This clearly shows wait times were worse in ‘23.

So is it a true statement that attendance is down in ‘23 compared to ‘22 but wait times are up in ‘23 compared to ‘22?

I have not found attendance numbers to compare ‘22 to ‘23, Jan. Through Apr. , but all you hear is how attendance is down at WDW.

Is it true there were less people in the park in ‘23 compared to ‘22?

If it’s true that there is less people in the park but the wait times are higher, the problem must be Genie+

Well there isn't any concrete data just commentary from Iger in earnings that it is down (but no idea of degree)

Also could be shorter park hours, more downtime for rides, less streetmosphere and "other stuff" to keep people out of lines. Could just be changing guest behavior that more focus on rides and less on doing "other stuff" than in the past

G+ could play a role too and some of that being human nature of when you pay for something you are going to want to maximize your use of is vs when FP+ was included and not an extra cost (I know that is true for me)

…and Moana is a nice path diversion…the kind of thing they need about 20 of constructed with little fanfare.

Not an “attraction”

Hey, I'm not the one that continually loudly complains about WDW, yet continues to visit. 🤷‍♀️

Anyone who knows the slightest thing about Disney knows it is going to be slammed this week...including you. Don't complain about it being hell when you fully knew that before you booked.
Where did you get all that crap you just loaded up into that diatribe?

I know exactly what I’m getting here. And you need to lighten up a little.

Will I lie about what’s good and bad?
No…I will not…to the end…

Even if there is a Disney spreadsheet somewhere that indicates the attendance is “lower” relative to years past, we all know it’s MOBBED for NYE.

I would love to see the spreadsheet that shows the prices for everything today and the number of cast members on duty today compared to years past.

Success or failure of the parks should not be measured in attendance. Success or failure should be measured by the guest experience; guest satisfaction.

Having said that, Disney can spin up any survey results they want saying anything they want.

Wall Street and shareholders won't buy into this. Success or failure in a business like parks and resorts are measured by profits. Disney stock is tied into my 401K but I'm not walking on a tightrope without a net so its sandwiched into mutual funds I'm invested which have done very well long term.

We were there from 12/20 - 12/24. Everyone that I saw enjoyed Moana and left with a smile, even my two teenage kids. To each their own I suppose but looked to be a success from what I saw.
I'm sure it's nice for what it is. But it shouldn't have taken multiple years to complete, even in a pandemic. And it should be filler, not a destination attraction.
