Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

The adoptive parents that raised me for a large portion of my life were extremely frugal. If you went to the bathroom you couldn’t flush until someone else went “two on a flush”. Every second of every day was about saving money.

Now I focus 100% of my time on making more money and absolutely none trying to save it.

I understand everyone’s situation is different but I could care less how much anything costs. Disney for me is about the experience that unfortunately is deteriorating.
So do you have a back up financial plan for a rainy day in your life because when it rains it pours and can wipe out a family.

I love Contemporary if just for the fact when I was a child back in early 80s, it really did seem so futuristic! You just could not top a monorail going through the building! :D
But that pool area is awful. If they could somehow fix that up I think it would go a long a way to improving the ambience.
I got a great discount but was in the Garden Wing, so that probably impacted the experience. I’m sure staying in the main building is a bit different.

I also have no desire to spend 14 hours at a Disney park. Anything outside of MK is taking that long, then it's just sitting in hour plus lines all day. And even MK, that is going to be a lot of lines and not a ton of rides. So having a decent hotel to spend part of the day at (or sometimes the whole day at) is important to us.
Been about 50 times to Disney parks and have never queued anywhere near 60+ minutes for a ride.

Actually I have once....my very first visit to Orlando at Magic Kingdom..I walked in knowing nothing and just queued for Seven Dwarfs for 80 minutes. I Soon found FP+ and subsequently G+ and LL as well as rope dropping.

It's also very rare we do one park a day...its always 2. On our last trip we did all 4 and it was a blast.

As I say, everyone's different. We are extreme, but that's because we live in the UK and have nothing like it here, so we make the most of every day while we are on holiday.

For us, there'd nothing worse than paying $500 for a room for a night at Disney, just to sit around a pool..albeit a nice one. I can do that at home....what I can't do is hit theme parks like Orlando has.

If I want to sit around a pool relaxing in the sun, I go to Europe on a sun holiday. For us it would be a waste to go all the way to Florida just to sit round a pool in a fancy hotel.

I have zero debt and plenty of zeros in the accounts. Also have a business (well 2 if you count the rentals as a business) and enough in retirement accounts for a couple generations.

Irresponsible spending on Disney trips will not be the end of me. 😃

I've seen and heard of big spending. A CM on Sunset Blvd was advising a family of 10 rented out the Fantastic theatre to see the F! show one evening and spent a week staying at the Grand Floridian.

I wonder if the best approach is to ask a guest as they exit the ride a rough estimate how much they queued for. If it stated a 35 minute wait time just ask them if it was realistic. I am sure they would give an honest answer. I may try that when we go.

Lol, I also find different periods of my life meant spending was differently. When the minions were small and my late hubby was just building up his business, we we're very frugal. Now I'm retired, no more college tuition, no more saving for retirement I can splurge a bit more.

I admire theme park warriors, lol my uncle "arthritis " makes sure I have creature comforts. 😄 no way could I go 11 -12 hours ripping and running.

We stayed in the Garden Wing when I was a little girl. I still haven't forgiven my father. 😐

No wonder you aren’t focused on saving anymore. I would be in the same boat. That’s awesome

Nothing wrong with it, to my mind it was just a lot of long, narrow hallways (with drop down ceilings that kinda looked to be in need of repair.) Ambiance was neither here nor there… just “standard hotel”. Maybe I just didn’t know the right places to go.

I was joking with you in regards to things being wrong… lol
