Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

We paid £1000 for 2 nights May 2022 for Portofino. Which was the going rate for a Bay view room.

We go in September and are staying on Disney Property but have a night booked at the Hard Rock for £500 as we thought it good value for the included Express passes (on a saturday and sunday) AND the fact we are doing HHN that night and we can just walk back to the hotel in 10 minutes when the night finishes.
Yikes…500 lbs in sept 2023 is not a good deal…

maybe universal deals in the UK aren’t very good?
It’s always been the opposite at WDW…the Kingdom does better than Americans there.

Just using Swift as an example - it could be a concert or increased cost of dining out or increased cost of doing work to your home or increased cost of other vacations or increased cost of cars, etc

Just with everything going up people have to pick and choose more vs doing more different things
People most likely have been doing this already …

Yeah, I don't know how it compares to US residents...but we did book a club level room if that makes any odds...plus maybe with it being a Saturday night during HHN, they know they can charge more l.

I've been to theme parks all over and rank Dollywood up there as one of my favorites (over DHS) but hands down, Animal Kingdom is the best theme park I've ever been to. It's not even a contest.

So I'm also a moron because I too would choose AK over IOA. As to how that leads to Disney underinvesting, I'm sure you'll enjoy explaining.
Didnt you know that hes all knowing and that no one can have an opinion to the contrary. Otherwise they are just a duster. I too would choose AK over IOA for more than one reason. The first being that AK is my favorite Florida park and secondly because other than spiderman i wouldnt go on any rides.

It’s possible…that’s just not a great rate.

Direct or travel agent?
Direct with Universal.

I’m not too surprised that’s the rate on a Saturday night during HHN season - Hard Rock is easily the best place to stay for the event and loads of people do short trips just for HHN. If your dates are at all flexible I’d suggest trying to change to another night both to save money on the room and attend a less crowded HHN night.

We don’t tend to hit the parks much during the day when we do HHN in the evening so we’re staying at Sapphire in September for our trip. If the hotel express worked for HHN that would be a different matter entirely.

right, just as prices go up everywhere - and go up even moreso at Disney - and salaries aren't keeping pace, people have to do it even more than in the past

Add in that for many what you are getting at Disney isn't as good as in the past and it makes it easier to use what $ you do have available elsewhere

Ive never understood why people pay so much for rooms when going to Disney. Especially the ones who basically do the parks majority of the day. Everyone trashes “Value” resorts but honestly they serve their purpose imo

We chose the Sat/Sun just because we knew we would get Express Passes so the parks being busy due to the weekend wouldn't be such a problem.

But yeah, we could have gone in the week for cheaper...but we always have to plan the weekends carefully as the parks are busier, so getting the EP's seemed a good idea.

But this is nothing new except the fact that Disney imo has just become a stale product and people have lost the desire to go and since Covid people had to make other choices and the “cult” following and “fomo” has lost its luster

If someone took the time to answer you, would you even be satisfied with the answer? No. No one ever is. Yet everyone still tries to convince each other why they are right. 😄

I’m with you, but I was more referring to the HHN crowds on a Saturday compared to a Wednesday or Sunday…
