Does anyone know if WiFi is available at the theme parks. I am looking to purchase an Ipod touch and was wondering if I would be able to access the web

The only unprotected Wi-Fi that I've found in the parks is if you're standing right next to the Radio Studio next to Sounds Dangerous at DHS. And even that's darn slow.

No, there is not public wifi available.
[rant]This is crazy to me. There are currently 7 free wi-fi sopts in Central Park in NYC. I feel that if a non-profit organization can provide wi-fi access is such a large area in the heart of a city so can WDW. They are after all getting a pretty penny for people to access their parks while anyone can walk into Central Park for free. [/rant]

i hope the parks never have free wifi. the last thing i want to see, in the happiest place on earth , are a load of people dragging thier laptops in to the parks, mobiles should be banned too.
its a place to get away from reality, and step into fantasy.leave it at the hotel.

Eh, I can understand where you're coming from, and I prefer to not worry about the real world too. But sometimes, I have to have access to web access, check email and stuff like that. Don't want to, but sometimes I have to. I have a motorola Q, which not only allows me to forward email to my phone, but it has mobile web access everywhere. It also gives me the chance to log on to wdwmagic and tell people what's going on as it happens, should the need or desire arise. :D

A small in-park wi-fi access area would be a good idea. Heck, even one just outside the entrances might satisfy those who urgently need to go online.

Next Question: How good is the Ipod phone/touch 3G/ Edge phone connection if there poor Wifi? I bring my phone to the park just to take pictures but turn it off inside the park. I will not take phone call inside the park but will accept calls at resorts before going to or coming back to the park.

2. Since nobody ask this yet: How about Universal / Sea World/ entire city of Orlando Wifi/ 3g/ edge connections? good or bad?

The iPhone doesn't run off wifi.....so even if you didn't have a signal you would be able to access the internet. It uses the phones connection if that makes since to you. So if you going with the iPhone then the wifi problem won't be a problem.

Hope that helps

I am glad there is no wi-fi, if you are at Disney, the point of it all is to have fun and forget about the outside world, not come in so you can surf the web

It actually uses both.

The edge network depends on your Cingular signal strength....which I've found to be zero inside many of the attractions. But outdoors it works fine.
