I just mostly want to be prepared. I know what to hit first at disney in order to get most of the popular stuff done before the crowds get there...i want to be able to do the same for Universal...this will be my first time there and I know little about it..i will be between universal and IOA for 2 days+one evening...(sunday evening, mon and tues) and want to see as much as i can without waiting in line..(well shorter lines anyway :O)..hit the most popular rides first (even if that means criss crossing the park) and then going back for the less popular one...
so any ideas what to hit first and want can wait..??
thanks for your help.

I was at Universal/IOA earlier this month, and the lines weren't bad at all! We stayed at the Portofino hotel, so had "front of the line" privileges, but didn't need to use them until after 11 both mornings.
I suggest that you not ride Jaws (at US) until last...I really got wet this time! I would make the same suggestion for Ripsaw Falls, and Bluto's Barges at IOA...you get SOAKED!! (more than on Kali Rapids or Splash Mountain) If it's cold, I would just pass on them.

Also, unless you're going during Christmas break, you should be able to see most everything at both parks within that time frame...certainly all of the "big" attractions.

You can always park hop but your feet will just hurt from walking from the parking lot! LOL It takes 4ever to get 2 the park!

Yeah I love them! Last April we parked on the top level of jurassic after walking that I needed a break. It was better when the parking lot was where city walk is now but back then they didn't have IOA! I love that park!

Well, IMHO, the only can't miss attraction in IOA is Spiderman. If you are into coasters, you will want to do the Hulk and Dueling Dragons. Dr. Dooms Fearfall is a standard off the shelf ride that most amusement parks have that is very, very short. If there's much of a wait for this one I would skip it all together because it's really not worth a wait. There is a single riders line that most people seem to miss because the entrance for it is set away from the attraction. If you really want to do it and there is a line, I suggest using the single riders line for it. The Cat In The Hat ride is cute but it's not something you want to do if you have back or neck injuries. It surprises me a great deal how jerky they apparently intentionally decided to make it... I thought Poseidon's Fury was kind of a cool walk-through/show but for some reason, I seem to be in a minority on that for whatever it's worth. Personally, I didn't care for The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad. The special effects were cool but I found the 'witty banter' to be rather low brow and the gratuitous amount of pointless violence seemed in poor taste to me for a family audience. It's a real shame, too. The set is really cool and it seems to have had potential but I think that in trying to be 'hip' they ruined this one... The dinosaur Encounter in The Jurassic Park area is one of those things that you probably only want to do if there is no wait - unless you have young ones. I thought it was sort of funny watching the guy take urine samples from an animatronic. They let you ask questions and will answer them with seemingly intelligent answers as if it's a real Dinosaur which seems both good and bad. The ones that are young enough to truly enjoy this attraction are also the ones that are young enough to not realize that the Dino isn't real, especially when there is an employee there insisting that it is. I honestly wish the AAs in the ride looked and moved this good, though. Speaking of the ride, the Jurassic Park River Adventure is sort of a neat attraction. I can't give a fair opinion on it since I have never seen it in full form (either dinos missing from set, particularly outside or effects not working as they are supposed to) but the inside drop at the end is cool and I've never really gotten wet on it. I wouldn't waste a lot of time in the Jurassic Park Discovery Center. There isn't a lot to do and you'll waste at least a good five or ten minutes playing with the "eggs" till you realize that there isn't much of anything to them. The Pteranodon Flyers (a kids ride) looks like fun to me but since you have to have someone with you who is less than 56 inches tall to ride it, I've never been allowed on. Adults having to be accompanied by children to ride - that's a switch!.. The Flying Unicorn is basically a kids roller coaster in the same level as Goofy's Barnstormer in MK (only a little rougher). As Marcia said, both Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges and Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls will get you obscenely wet, particularly the Barges. I highly recommend you wear rain ponchos on this one unless you want to walk around the park with wet underwear all day. They go out of their way to totally blast you with water in case you don't get wet enough in the natural course of the ride. They also let other people take aim at you with watter guns that are essentially garden hoses. They don't just spray or shoot a blast of water but instead, produce a steady stream of pressurized water at you. Also, consider taking your shoes and socks off when you get on. The first time I rode it they were telling people not to take their shoes off on the loading platform but were not saying anything to those doing it once on the rafts. Since everyone else on the raft did it, we did too and we were thankful for it.
Let's see, I know I'm forgetting some things... Oh, Storm Force Accelatron is essentially a tea cups ride and the One Fish Two Fish is a Dumbo style ride. Neither is worth waiting for if you plan on also visiting Disney. The Caro-Seuss-el is a sort of neat variation on the traditional carousel. I think that's about it for IOA. If it's not I'm sure somebody else will add to this. Please also keep in mind that I rate all of these attractions from my own personal experience - another words, take what I saw with a grain of salt. Except for Spidernan. I didn't say a lot about it but pretty much everyone will tell you it's the best ride in IOA. IMHO, it's the only truly unique one that begins to approach the quality of Disney in its execution. I'll post on US a littler later if nobody else has. It's the older and now seemingly less popular of the two but I think it's a better family park containing mostly attractions that the entire family can enjoy together...

Agreed BTTF is quite bumpy, but very cool, and in MIB...alot of spinning, but I loved it. The last couple of times I have went I have hit Twister first, as the line gets long there to.
