sorry about the thread drift
You are a big chicken! Nothing compares to being able to see the leaves of the trees from the distance! (and my "distance" was very close already!)
I think I had 5 dioptrias or around that. I had surgery in May 98, costed me around $1,600usd, and I did it in Mexico City where the most advanced machine and most famous doctor were, so I went with him and skipped the ones here.
As far as I remember they had me "tranquilized" and waiting for my turn in a very nice area with leather "reposets" for about 90 minutes while they put drops in my eyes to numb them. When my turn came, it took him 10 minutes total to do it and I walked out of there with some clear goggles to avoid dust. (I won´t say details because that has changed now and also because you may chicken out more!) hehe...
My recovery was of 30 days without exercising (like I would!) trying not to touch my eyes or scrub them, of course, and without make up.
A friend of mine had it last year, it took 10 minutes too, but he didn´t have to wait in the nice room with the "surgery outfit" or anything! He walked in there with his suit, got some drops immediately before the laser came and that was it! He walked out of there!. He was driving and having a normal life three days after. Times have changed!
Now... my vision is not perfect, I still have some astigmatism left on my eyes that bother me, but I´m ready for second rounds when I get the money to do it. The doctors can´t assure you perfection you know, and if it comes back, it´s because after all, it is in your genes! So there is no way to know, but it is sure worth the try!
Oh well... time to shut up now and go back to the military subject if you feel like it. :animwink: Thanks for reading, sorry about the drift! :animwink:
