I've read about this International Gateway??? a second entrance to Epcot? I don't recall ever seeing this in my 4 previous visits to The World and Epcot is my FAVORITE park? What is the purpose of this entrance? Where does it go? Any benefits for me staying in POP? I am completely baffled about this? Please help!!!

It is at the back right of the park, between Canada and France I believe. It connects the Boardwalk and Yacht/Beach Club resorts and Epcot. It has no benefit to anyone not staying at one of those resorts, or the Swan/Dolphin, or traveling between one of them and Epcot.

I didnt realize those two resorts were within walking distance of the park. How long of walk between the two is it? That would be a FANTASTIC to stay at one of those resorts !! :sohappy: At least in my opinion!

Close, it's between UK and France. It provides access to the Boardwalk resorts and restaurants and pedestrian or boat access to DHS. Thus is of great advantage to numerous people besides those staying at the resorts.

The International Gateway can be found in between the United Kingdom and France. It is at the the bottom of the hill right before the first bridge when crossing into France by way of the UK. It is used by Resort guests staying in the Epcot resorts since there is no other transportation (Bus, Monorail, etc.) to Epcot, also you can board a boat or take a brisk walk and head over to DHS.
As for walking time about a 5 to 15min. for the resorts and 20 to DHS the boats usually are about the same.

Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan and Dolphin all in easy walking distance of the International Gateway to EPCOT and DHS.

Yep...as everyone else said, it's between France and the UK in the WS and it allows Epcot resort guests to access the park easily.

I definitely recommend that you stay there sometime, especially if you love Epcot.
Great location and great resorts.

I just stayed at the Boardwalk for this reason. The walk to Epcot is a breeze - 5 minutes. DHS is about 15-20. Really not bad at all. World Showcase opens later than Futureworld. so if you enter this way at park open you'll be lead to Future World. Also, if you have early breakfast times or tours - go in the main entrance. We were not allowed to enter early for our Segway tour through International Gateway, and missed it as a result.

You can also use this entrance for EMH and morning opening even though World Showcase is not yet open. The bridge over to France is roped off, and you simply use the walkways along Great Britain and Canada until you reach the front portion of the park. MUCH less crowded at opening.

As others have said, it is a useful access point for going to any Boardwalk restaurants or resort restaurants. It is also a viable alternative to get from Epcot to DS.

Lots of benefits that I use regularly!

This is great info to know! Thank you all very much.

So spending the day in Epcot and leaving via International Gateway to get to Boardwalk to have dinner at Cat Cora's new restaurant and walk back to Epcot would be a good choice then. I believe her new place is at Boardwalk right?
