They always said Memorial Weekend, so it was somewhat assumed that would be Friday. The extended hours also kick off on Friday.

So even if it soft opens on Friday, as far as FPs are concern, they won't be available until Saturday?

Very strange that it would be open on the Saturday when the extended hours start Friday. Disney is just full of tricks lately
Only thing I thought of is, maybe there using Fri as soft open and depending on the reaction, they can fix any elements or parts so the final "good" version(if they need it) will open on Sat?
Could be a typo too. Although, you'd think they would have looked at that before it went on YT, it's not live.

This looks like it'll be a few notches above complete crap. Which is good. I'm glad they're putting effort into this. I've been fearing that this would kind of be a twin to the Star Wars stage show at DHS. You know, play clips from the film and have maybe a couple of things happen on the water. That fear hasn't been totally killed yet, but it's dying, and I hope it dies for good next Friday.
I think that the Jungle Book is certainly appropriate for DAK. Obviously Rivers of Light is what I'm ultmately excited for, but I'm not so opposed to this being here while they solve RoL's issues. Sure, they're synergizing, but it's not a bad thing. I'd go so far as to say that this whole Jungle Book thing was a good idea and good timing.

But from what we have heard/surmised, the lotus floats are one of the primary reasons that RoL is not ready... Personally, I'd rather them hold all of the RoL-specific props until they can be seen in their intended context.I keep harping on my wish for the lotus fountains to be a part of this show, but if they are, then JBAWM will be a win for me until RoL comes along. It's probably not going to happen though :-/

I agree with @Brian Swan . I know the shows share the same venue and will have similarities given the water screens, which in itself produces some creative challenges to distinguish the two shows, but that's why I'm hoping they hold off so ROL has a bigger "wow factor" when revealed.

I do agree. I rather not have spoilers either for RoL... There already will be spoilers such as experiencing the viewing area, lighting, mist screens..
I wouldn't mind though seeing the stationary lotus's that the Media experienced. That wouldn't be to much of a spoiler for RoL at least.
