Instead of a free admission on your b-day...

Does anyone know what the options are if you are already staying at a WDW resort and have your tickets bought when you stay on property for your birthday?

If you arrive at a Disney Theme Park ticket window on your bithday and present an admission ticket, you'll be able to choose from:

--A "Birthday Fun Card" in the amount equivalent to a one-day MYW Base Ticket for use in any Disney-owned merchandise location.

--A Birthday Fastpass good for Fastpass entrance to four attractions for up to six people.

--A one-day MYW Base Ticket good for one year.

--A one-day MYW Base Ticket good for one year.

A little extra info:
The good-for-one-year ticket is *not* upgradable. It's a one-day ticket, and that's it.

If you don't already have park tickets as part of a vacation package or Annual Pass, and your birthday falls during your trip, you can get your Birthday Ticket up to 7 days early for the purpose up upgrading it to a ticket that you can use for your entire trip. They'll give you credit for the 1-day ticket and you pay the difference in price.

The information I have says that "the free birthday ticket may be upgraded." However, the Guest is responsible for paying any cost incurred for the upgrade. It also specifically says that days cannot be credited to an Annual Pass.

Odd question, but didn't want to start another thread...

Just registered my birthday with WDW. During my trip, I'll be using comp tickets courtesy of a wonderful friend who is a CM. Can I still show them the comp admission ticket at the Will Call window and get a "Birthday Fun Card" instead of admission?

Also, there's no way to use it on food/drink, right?

Thanks in advance!

A Comp ticket is still an admission ticket, I'd say yes.

According the the legal information you can only get the other birthday options if you have an annual pass, season pass, or a previously purchased multi-day ticket. At least that's how I read it. I doubt Disney will accept a comp ticket otherwise they'd be giving a lot of money out. ($75 times 55,000 cast members)

Just an update on this info that I'd previously posted...
The other day I happened to go back to the promotion's FAQ page, and it had changed. All references to being able to pick up your Birthday Ticket early for the purpose of upgrading it for your trip have been removed from the FAQ. Now it says that the Birthday Ticket can *only* be picked up on your actual birthday (though it can still be upgraded at that time).

How this will actually play out in practice, we'll have to see. Is anyone with a January birthday going next month?

I was looking at the FAQ on Disney's site and it doesn't mention what the limit is on the birthday Fastpass badge. Is it really good for only four attractions?

And does the fun card have to be used up in one day in one park?

Wasn't a 70$ Gift Carp part of the deal too?
Ummm...Happy Birthday?

(and, yes, one option is a merchandise-only gift card good in the amount that the one celebrating the birthday would have otherwise paid for a ticket)

Love's birthday is in February and we're Passholders, so he's looking forward to spending some gift card money on his birthday. (He's got his eye on a monorail. Something he's wanted for a few years now but never quite felt like spending the cash on.)

Have I ever told you I love it when you are right?

Today was my Dad's birthday and we went to the Magic KIngdom. since he already has an annual pass he chose the birthday card option. You get a gift card with $75 on it. It doesn't look like the regular gift cards tho. It says Walt Disney World Birthday Fun Card on it, and there's a picture of Pluto popping out of a present. We didn't have any problem using it anywhere. And we definitely made sure to use it up. :ROFLOL:

I asked about the FastPass card and the CM gave me piece of paper with info on it. How it works is you get a special card that says Disney's Fastpass Birthday Exchange Card with Donald and Daisy on it.

It says you insert the card into a Fastpass machine for a FP you can use immediately or return to use later.

You will be eligible for FOUR FP offerings: TWO from the Donald Group and TWO from the Daisy group.

Donald group attractions:
Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Peter Pan's Flight, Winnie the Pooh

Daisy Group attractions:
Jungle Cruise, Stitch's Great Escape, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Buzz Lighyear.

This is only for the Magic KIngdom so I'm not sure how it'lll work at the other parks, but this gives you some kind of idea.

Hope this helps out some.
