Instead of a free admission on your b-day...

Does anyone yet have a definite answer to where the birthday card CAN be used and what exactly it can be used for? That word "select" leaves alot of room for interpretation.

Here, I found this. http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneyparks/en_US/birthdayFunCard/index

Basically, if the store is owned and operated by Disney, you can use the card. If the store is operated by an outside vendor, you can't use the card.

On the back of the card, in very fine print , it lists what the card can and cannot be used for, and where. It also listed the above website, which spells everything out more clearly.

but here's my point. It worked at first. Our money is tight right now, but we figured with my wife's birthday being on a Friday that we could drive down after I get out of work Friday afternoon (we live about 5 hours away) and pick up her ticket and stay at a disney resort Friday and Saturday night. Then Saturday we'd go and I'd buy a ticket for myself that day. Then head home on Sunday.

Now I see she has to use the ticket on her birthday. My work is not going to let me off both Thursday and Friday so that is out the window. They just lost the money from my park ticket and all the money we would have spent in the park and at the hotel those two days.

The point of the promotion is to get you to spend as much money as possible. If it means they get you to come twice, once for each birthday, they win again. I can be upset that I can't afford 4 trips to get a free entry for each member of my family, but point of the promotion isn't to pander to when birthdays are convenient.

Okay, so what if you miss your birthday by one (stinkin) day. We are going the day after my bday so my daughter won't miss to much school (we are going for the marathon and my bday is wed.). Do they do anything for you on the day AFTER your birthday? I was so bummed when I heard about this promotion and we had already made our reservations. If I had known, I would have tried a little harder to get down on my b-day. I think last year the actual marathon was ON my birthday. Why couldn't it be the same this year? I am ringing the 40s with a marathon at Disney and I can't wait. But it still would have been nice to be there ON my bday. oh well. *sighs and stops complaining*

Which window do you go to for the birthday fun card? Is it Guest Relations outside the park or any ticket window?
The certificate I printed out after registering my birthday with WDW said the Will Call window at the park you want to visit.

Is the fun card good for that day only? And do you have to use all of it that day? Thanks.

Yes, the birthday fun card can only be obtained on your birthday and can only be used on your birthday. You have until midnight on your birthday to use the money on it.

You may pick up the fun card, free ticket, etc, at the Will Call window at the entrance to the four parks. At the MK we asked the first CM we saw after getting to the TTC and she directed us to the correct window. At the MK they are the ticket windows in the middle. I know at Epcot Will Call has been moved to the middle, by the entrance to the monorail. I"m not sure where they are at the Studios or Animal KIngdom. Just ask a CM. You, and many others, will all be heading in the same direction.:)

Perhaps we'll need a fastpass for the Will Call window!

Really. There was a long line behind us, with everyone and their confirmation papers standing in line.

One note for anyone interested in the Fastpass Card. Disney recommends you arrive early and ask for one. They cannot guarantee them past 11 am. Apparently they're only giving so many of those out a day. The father of the family next to us on the monorail was celebrating his birthday too and he had chosen the Fastpass Card.

Since I've got a comp ticket, I'll be utilizing the free $75 card. Too bad I can't use it on food/drink.

I know that, my point still stands. We won't be coming for either birthday since they're in the middle of the week meaning we won't be spending "any" money with them. If they offered you the chance to celebrate your birthday any time within 7 days of it, we'd definitely be there spending money on a ticket for myself and hotel rooms. Since its not, we won't be spending any.

The poster here though said in order to get the card you have to show an AP, Seasonal Pass, or Multi-day Ticket, so you may be out of luck on the $75 Jenn.
:(

agreed. Comp tickets are just that. You didn't pay for anything in the first place so you're not missing out on anything by them not providing you something for free on your birthday.

When it comes to Seasonal, Annual, or Multi-day tickets, We've already actually PAID for our admission for that day...we're not already getting into the park for free...that's why they are offering alternatives for just those types of tickets. Why should you expect something else instead of a free admission when you've already received a free admission?!

Agreed? I don't agree on any of that! I was just warning her, I say Disney should give Jenn MORE money.

agreed with the fact that she's out of luck.

but I don't get why you don't agree with anything I said. Disney doesn't owe her anything. She should save her Comp ticket for another day and use the free admission that they're offering for her bday.
