No one said you have to love all Disney… I don’t love all Disney… it was how it was framed… the poster said the film was Family Friendly unlike other recent Disney films and I disagree… I have not seen anything offensive in any of Disney’s recent output… and I will say I did not care for some of it such as Lightyear and Haunted Mansion… sure sounds like that poster follows ideologies from certain Disney raging YouTubers

Yep. It was fun, goofy and entertaining and I liked that they gave it an actual through line with some heart. It wasn't a "good" movie but it got way more hate than it deserved.
Break even is at $600M.
If there is a 50% drop next week and every week after, then it will make about $880M B.O.

The budget is $200m, right? I think per recent analysis in the Box Office thread, the break-even would be closer to $500m. See some of BrianLo's posts there (if you can find them) for details.
Either way, yeah... it's about to blow right past that. As a sign of the mania, it's actually increased daily screenings at my theaters over last weekend from 104 to 115, which I haven't seen happen in quite awhile.
As a rule of thumb:
$200M 'known' production cost
+$100M advertising and administrative fees (usually 50% of the budget)
=====
$300M cost.
Over time and taking into account international splits, the production company (Disney) gets half of the B.0. and the theaters, the other half.
So, the B.O. would have to be $600M to break even. Give or take a few 10s of millions in either direction based on not know the true costs, but only a rule of thumb.

Disney takes about half of the box office.
They puts break even at box office of 600M
And it will do it and then some.

Hiya, gang. :) Box Office data is out for yesterday's preview sales, which should show how this second weekend for Apes 9 will pan out. It looks like the two new movies, IF and The Strangers, won't be too much competition for Apes 9. But as we discussed earlier, Apes 9 has had poor legs this...
There was also a recent Variety article I linked (I'll try to find that, too) where if you do the math, a lot of studios are signalling profitability at around a 2.2x multiplier.
