So is it free roam now where you just go in and nose around at your own pace or is it still going to be hosted and you have to follow someone through?

Quite interesting. I feel like this attraction is harder to make current because of how quickly technology moves.

Looks like the freeloading blogger preview was tonight.

I'm not sure what the attraction entails, but I do know what they had for dinner and there was free booze.

I agree. My brother in law works in the computer industry, and he jokes (kind of a joke) that whatever new product we buy is already 'obsolete'.

Now more than ever. That's not just computers anymore either. Home automation used to be a luxury item now it's an out of the box system. Open source is key though, thanks to companies like google this stuff is all shared technology.

So has anyone gone through this yet? Impressions?

I am excited to go through this when we visit in October. While I am not exactly a "tree hugger" I do try to act responsibly with the environment for future generations and I am always interested in seeing how technology can be integrated into that type of thinking.

I've been through it and I was a bit disappointed. This new version isn't as "showy" or "demonstrable" as the previous one. The guide will point at things such as placemats, or tiles but that's about it. The only two things that are demonstrated are a touch screen in the kitchen and the same toilet that was there before.

The previous version was, in my opinion, more interesting because they demoed things like the 3D laptop, the kinect system, the drums, etc.

Either way I'm just glad that this showcase gets updated regularly to keep it new and relevant.

You can't forget the gourmet peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. YUM YUM.

I think Epcot should have a "House of the Future" and they could giveaway a night's stay like they did with the Castle Suite.

DHS could do something similar...with a stay in the Chinese Theater...and DAK could have a large treehouse suite.

Or how about a suite at the top of SSE. For TL, they can have a house of the future and live like skinner. For DHS, put in a suite at ToT. Treehouse on the edge of the safari would be cool, though it would be similar to akl.
