Innoventions Sign Removal

Just got back from work at Epcot and while there I noticed that the sign/structure out front of Innoventions West (seen here: http://lh5.ggpht.com/_SNda-ZaTjsg/SkozISFp92I/AAAAAAAAGtY/vJftjRZOGXY/s640/DSC00879.JPG) has been removed.

They must have removed it overnight because it was definitely there yesterday. Sorry I don't have pictures, but I didn't have my camera with me. I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow. I think it looks really good without the sign/structure there and the space feels alot more open, but it does kind of make that entrance door to Innoventions look kind of bare.

Hrmmm... I wonder if that's what was meant by "Promenade Structure Removal".... Let's just hope this is only the beginning...

Well, that sign no longer fit the new branding of Innoventions, so ok.

Something has to happen with the tarps. Someone mentioned their poles were in the process of getting painted - so let's say they are staying. Would they have faded purple tarps on green and blue poles?

I firmly think something will happen, even if only new tarps.

Erm———that sign could easily fit the description of "Promenade Structure"... uh-oh... that'd be disappointing if all that came of this was just that signage structure torn down, with the tarps remaining.

Plus, Paktoz' main business is working with signs... :lookaroun

Well, this is a strange mix of euphoria mixed with disappointment. That wire thing DID need to go (for about 10 years now), but hopefully its the beginning, not the end, of the wire structure removal...

YES!

Thrilled to see this...The plaza is going to look slick. Very happy that work is going on.

WOOOOO! :sohappy:

I do think the tarps will come down....they'd have to recolor all the tarps themselves and repaint all the poles, and the electric umbrella canopy was repainted, and then the innoventions west sign and poles all came down (last night!) and if they can take all of that down in one night, perhaps if a demo crew comes right after everyone leaves the park, they can get all the tarps and poles gone? Though what will they do with the concrete bases laying around all over the place? :veryconfu

I was thinking about that...

Either put something in their place...:lookaroun....Or Demo them. How hard would it be to remove them?

It wouldn't be very hard to remove them and resurface the ground. Besides, if they are going to redo the whole plaza anyway it wouldn't be much of a big deal.

Right. They can even do it a section at a time, like the Breezeways.

I don't think they could or would close off the entire Plaza like in 1994...:lookaroun
