Indiana Jones to close this month?

And that is the problem with Traditions! One of my CM friends told me how excited she was that she worked on the Jungle Cruise and Robin Williams worked on it in Disneyland also...yeah didn't happen! Cast members just repeat what they hear from other cm's who repeat what they hear from internet rumors. Indy is not going anywhere fast!
However, Jim Varney DID ride Splash Moutain! ;)

GMR events are actually very rare. However, Indy is a go to venue for years for cheerleading but I think the three year part out is more of a placeholder in general since kids have to fundraise for a few years for these competitions. I also imagined them relocating to ESPN Wide World of Sports if parts of the park had to go down for construction.

Right. I don't see how the "venue is booked for years" would really be a deterrent to closing Indy. It's not like it is booked specifically for the Indiana Jones theming -- it's just a stage of proper size with sufficient capacity. If Disney wanted to bulldoze the theater, they just would have to find alternative venues for the booked events which I am sure they could do.

OMG, thanks for posing that! Hadn't seen that in years (since it first aired).
As Mr. Miyagi would say... "WELCOME!"

They could replace the stunt show with one for the Crystal Skull....they could re-create nuking the fridge and large killer ants attacking an animatronic Cate Blanchett, and an alien spaceship

It's someimes nice to come back to resurrect older posts...

Certain that Indy was to close by the end of January, here we are nearly mid February and no indication of it closing, worth going back and reading the 'definite plans for avatar to go behind expedition Everest' posts...

I'd be fine if they just brought the DL ride over. Give us that and a lot of starwars just as long as they keep some muppet stuff

Honestly, the DisneySea version had some really neat FX that aren't in the Disneyland version. I want the Japanese variant.

I agree he's not rude but I do see how it can be taken as such. Sometimes a tiny bit more of an explanation could ease that, even if maybe they really don't feel they need to give one. Not saying I find him rude at all but I can see how a poster would take it that way.
you are right... plus text in general is so easy to take the wrong way

I'm 100% certain that there are people who know what is going on.

We all have screen names here. I have said this in other message boards (not Disney related) and I'll say it here as well.

You never know who is behind the screen name.

@Bolt is someone that even the wdwmagic admin have said to just take his answer for what it is, regardless of how short it is.

There's always speculation of who is on this message board and to what capacity they do things within Disney. Am I saying Bolt is anyone major in Disney? No. I don't know Bolt personally, but there are certain members here that when they do come forward and answer a question, it's them giving you the answer that you are looking for and they may not have the clearance to go beyond a one word answer, so be lucky you got that.

And to those that saw Bolt's answer as rude? One word was all that needed to be said.

That be cool also.

The ride is good and to be frank I don't think the overlap between DL and WDW is as big as many think. I've been to WDW 52 times in 30 years but I am only going to DL for the first time this d23. I doubt I will ever make it out to japan for DisneySea , I'm sure plane tickets alone would cost what i'd spend in 2-3 trips to WDW.

So I wouldn't be too bummed about attractions from other parks ending up in HS or EPCOT . We just need more stuff to do. HS needs another 4 or 5 attractions that are not Disney Junior . Epcot needs at least 5 more attractions. They both need them yesterday

I took bolts response as just what he said, "false"...reading into black and white text on a forum will have you classified as insane.. I dont know bolt, but given its a month pass his/her initial response, I think he/she might have a higher clearance level here than most.

Or he/she is really good at 50/50.

When PhotoDave219 stands up for someone, I tend believe him.

So with the chris pratt as Indiana jones rumor gaining more traction , perhaps a new attraction would be good co marketing.

If they bring over the existing Indiana ride from japan it shouldn't take them that long to build the ride or to demo the current stage. So they could have it up in a year or so. That would bring something new for the park while a larger starwars portion is built.

Looking at the map http://wdwtourguide.com/img/DisneysHollywoodStudiosMap.jpg they could easily fit a cantina where the current Indiana food area is , they could also put up a dark ride Indiana and perhaps another dark starwars ride in the current stunt show space. Then they have that space around commissary and echo that can be themed for more star wars .

Looking at backlot they can fit a few rides over there and put Pixar there. They should be able to fit cars land and a roller coster along with a couple of meet and greets and resturants .

I'm sure someone who is better with google maps can plot out sizes better. They also seem to have some room behind beauty and the beast and in front of fantasmic to build also. If I had power I would get rid of the beauty stage and put up another ride or two there.

We are all ravenous to learn about these DHS plans, its like the rumblings of New Fantasyland. I'll defend NFL a lot, but hopefully this turns out more fruitful and isn't just pretty to look at. Crossing my fingers for substance and for the Muppets to stay where they are!
