When we saw it, he was wearing a very flowery Hawaiian shirt, which made him easy to find in the audience. He was the guy who they made hold the one-legged pose forever. Thinking about it afterward, they wouldn't want to do that to a regular audience member that they didn't know what kind of shape they were in...

Yep. He still wears a bright flowered shirt. We could tell he was part of the show from the start. But then again I'm an actor and can spot these things easily.

I believe his name and hometown also change per show, he was Alexi from Russia when I most recently saw him, but then my friend saw him as (something) from Italy.

I love the shirt idea!!! If we weren't going at Christmas, I would be tempted to make my family wear them just for the laughs. I wonder how you would figure out where to sit - I guess one of us would have to go early and try to scope out where he was...:ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL:

When I first saw the show in 1991, I think he had the same shirt on as when I saw him a few months ago. Way to recycle. :ROFLOL:

It's not like that CM wakes up that morning and decides what to wear to work. That shirt is his costume. It is a costume because he is a cast member in a show. The name of the show is Disney-MGM Studios (soon to be Disney's Holywood Studios).

In 1993 we visited MGM for the first time. My sister was picked to be in the show. They gave her a pose to hold, standing on one foot in I believe dancers call it an arabesque. My sister was in excellent shape then being a dancer herself. Everytime the CM looked at her to make sure she was in her pose, she was and she never dropped her foot the whole time. Kind of blew the joke but our family had a laugh cause we knew she could have held that pose even longer. The next year and every year thereafter, the hawaiian shirt guy was in that pose. He was in the show with my sister but they didn't have him hold the pose, they just threw him around the stage a lot.

Uhhhh yeah, I knew that. I was kind of joking. And the show is not called Disney MGM Studios, that's the name of the park.

I think they were refering to Disney terms as the "show" as being "on stage" in front of the guests no matter where you are in the park. "Back stage" means out of guests view. It was the same for The Disney Stores. On stage was on the sales floor, back stage was in the back room. The show means your job in front of guests.

He used Alexi from Russia when I saw it too. Again, in a loud shirt. Foolishly I totally fell for it the first time I saw it!
