Indiana Jones Land?

I imagine the character will be recast eventually. I'm sure there's plenty of adventures he had in the 30s & 40s that we never saw.

It might take a while though, Disney seems to be hesitant to recast right now after Solo (which wasn't the fault of the recasting at all, but whatever). But I have to imagine that next June won't be the last we see of Indy.

As for the IP not being fit for a land, the theming wouldn't be super specific like it is with Star Wars, Harry Potter & Avatar. I feel that would give an Indy land a sense of timelessness. That's on top of the franchise being an enduring piece of American pop culture. Snow White & Peter Pan aren't particularly relevant, but I doubt anyone would complain about them getting more in the parks.
The biggest problem with a recast right now is Harrison Ford himself. He's been going around for years saying ridiculous things like, "I'm the only guy that can play IJ" and the like. Get over yourself dude. As soon has his grave is cold, The Mou$e will be planning for his replacement.

they need more world building to make indiana jones as a franchise viable. Theres no reason to recast Indiana jones, but his world needs to be bigger so that other characters can have spinoffs and appearances. They did young indiana jones which i think was an easy choice for recasting, but the movie Indiana jones, Id rather them not change from harrison ford. Indiana jones itself is part of the problem though. Think if Star wars had been called luke skywalker, and it was about his life and his trips through the galaxy and everyone else was background characters. With Indy you cant even have walk around characters that arent Indy because nobody would realize who they were trying to be.

my opinion only

I get where he's coming from. It's his favorite role, he's probably made so many amazing memories working on those movies. Plus, it's not an established character like Spider-Man or Batman that existed before the first actor played them; Ford probably helped create & shape Indy as much as Spielberg, Lucas & the writers.

I don't think he's irreplaceable though. The franchise & character have grown much larger than Ford. It'll be a shame if it doesn't continue.

I don't really think Indy is a series that can be world built. It's definitely a series that relies on that main character. Anything else would basically be a new IP like Uncharted or Tomb Raider.

"James Bonding" Indy is the best way to go.

The Fedora! An adventurous, swashbuckling, intrepid, clever and educated archeologist is just another archeologist BUT! with the Fedora! you have a whole other character.

I hadnt considered James bond, thats a great comparison.

Poor George Lazenby. Im sure it was a shock in the beginning, but we got used to that role being recasted.

Indiana Jones was actually created because Spielberg wanted to make a James Bond film, but Eon Productions kept turning him down. So George Lucas said he had a better character in mind and pitch Indy to Spielberg.

Don't feel bad for him, it was his decision not to return for a second one. The producers wanted him back but George's counter-culture friends at the time convinced him that the Bond series was a dead end and he decided to ditch the role. He went on to invest in real estate.

No, the anti-religious bigots would have a fit, like they do every time he appears (or voices) in something.
He’s still in GotG, so, not really an issue.

Plenty of other male leads to be Indy.

I am a huge 007 fan, so I’m fine with changing actors to continue the saga. Or they can introduce his daughter, India Jones (we named the cat India…).

There is so much 30-40s adventure/global content to use. India could take us into the 50s, against some residual Nz factions stealing antiquities.

It certainly helps. But look at Splash Mountain, Song of the South is a film that not many people have seen. I think it comes down to storytelling and how an IP is implemented into a lands setting. I think it also needs to not rely purely on having to have seen the film or tv show it's based on, because some people may not have. So to expand the story further just enhances the experience.

I'd love Indy to get His own land. I think it would be fairly hard to do, as he's a bit of a globe trotter. So it would have to be set in one specific area. Hopefully the new film will create a new audience and an appreciation for the previous films. The fact that they (and the Tv show) aren't available on Disney+ is disappointing

Lost river delta in TDS is basically an Indy land themed around the South American jungle. I think something like it would be a good fit in DHS and bring an adventureland type area to the park which would be a nice change adding some water and greenery

I'd honestly love to see a lost River Delta section at Hollywood. Turning the stunt show and surrounding area into the studio's answer to a Jungle/Adventure Land (but more thrilling and less whimsical) would bring in some much-needed greenery, as well as a number of water rides that the park really could do with.

They better make more movies, new lead, and expand Indy at DHS. Such a waste of an awesome franchise.

Pratt could have done it.
Pratt is the only person I could visualize taking the role and doing it a service at this point and time….

That being said, I still think Harrison Ford IS Indiana Jones.

I know Disney will eventually recast and relaunch. It’s what they do.

This next movie doesn't looks that good my friends. It's probably best not to make any Indy plans. It looks worse than that stupid Crystal Skull. My 5 year old nephew could do better special effects with crayola crayons.

Actually saw a preview this weekend. My honest opinion is it looks like a return to what an Indiana Jones film should be. Trailer was fantastic and that was the consensus of a small group of 10 people. I am now excited for an Indy return!!!

Haters going to hate. Jeezzz give it a chance.
Looks 1000x's better than Crystal skulls.
