In-Park Viewing of World Cup

Does anybody know where in the parks (could be any) I can watch the World Cup games? I'll be at the parks all day tomorrow and don't want to miss the USA match. I'm going to assume it's going to be somewhere in Epcot (if anywhere).

Thanks in advance! ^_^

You want to watch a football match whilst in WDW... wow.

 If I went to WDW once every two years like yourself, I wouldn't be worried about it. But since I go about every week, trust me, I'm not going to miss anything sitting down for a 90 minute game.

I very much doubt you'd see the games in any of the parks. That's too "real world intruding".

You'd have to go to one of the bars/lounges at the hotels. If you're at the MK try the lounge outside 'Ohaha at the Polynesian, or Outer Rim at Contemporary.
At Epcot or Studios, walk over to the ESPN Club at Boardwalk.

I believe there is a TV in Epcot guest relations where they are showing the matches. But I think it's more for scores, and not for sustained viewing.

I think it would have been a great time to put in a big screen in the World Showcase Plaza area, or open up the World Showplace as a viewing area. The World Cup fits very well Epcot.

That is a great idea! EPCOT is certainly a nice fit for a World Cup viewing area.

Then why don't you stay home for 90 minutes and watch the game??

But most Americans don't follow soccer and wouldn't really care about this giant screen or viewing area set up in the park.

Disney doesn't even put TV screens in the parks for the Super Bowl, which is pretty much a national American holiday. The NBA just had their championship game with LA taking the title, and they didn't have screens anywhere in the parks, even in Anaheim. This year's Baseball All-Star Game is being held in Anaheim next month, and there will be a big parade through the streets of Anaheim (right alongside Disneyland) with the players, but not a single TV in the parks. It's just not done.

If they don't do that sort of thing for sports that Americans actually follow in large numbers, they certainly aren't going to start doing that for soccer games featuring foreign countries.

Good points about the Super Bowl et al...but WDW pulls a pretty sizeable international crowd. If they ever did start airing sports events in the parks, I bet the World Cup in Epcot would get plenty of attention.

Anyway, I think the answer to the OP's question is that there is no good spot in the parks to watch the World Cup — but with all the bars and restaurants on property, you should be able to find somewhere in WDW showing it. Since you're going to be focusing on the game anyway, the detail of being in or out of the parks shouldn't really matter.

Can't watch em at Busch Gardens Williamsburg! So I was there last Friday when the USA was playing Algeria and when I got there around 10:30 the pub in Ireland opened at 11. SO we rode Europe in the Air (checking my phone for the scores BUT NO SIGNAL:mad:).. So when we got out went straight to the Pub and asked the guys if they were going to put the game on. He said " no we can't. we are not allowed" ? Isn;t BG trying to have a european feel? UM HELLO! They sells replica Jersey's in Germany and France but you can;t but it on the telly? The only thing that was on the TV was the bg videos.... So mad...:fork:

I watched England vs USA at Raglin Road at PI....Great food, atmosphere...They only had two TVs going but I would suggest making a ressie just to guarantee a decent seat to watch....Thats what I did the day before and got a seat right in front of one in the main room....

Come on England!
Go USA!
