We always enjoyed looking at the beautiful Kodak Pictures displayed up there.
They need to do the restore/refurb to Imagination. Now. All other attractions can wait until after this is done. Including Mermaid. And all of the Fantasyland expansion.
Some worker argued me that the fountain of nations doesn't go off after illuminations which that night it turned out it wasn't running. She also said it goes off to the illuminations score during Illuminations. I made a bet that if I saw it go off the next time I came there she would have to show me the whole backstage system. Sadly I couldn't she wasn't there the next time. She was pretty mean.
I agree. I could have sat and watched the jumping water for hours. Just loved it.I didn't take these photos but here's some from the upstairs:

It is almost physically painful to me that it's all right there, so close and yet so far away. To say Imagination was my favorite when I was a kid is an understatement.
Amazing. I wish they would utilize that space again.I was up there in August and it was suprisingly clean.

Does anyone know if WDI still uses the 2nd floor as a "base"...Or is that done with?
I can understand leaving it in place vs. demolition, but why keep it powered on?
That would have been nice.Me too!!! The original concept for the ride had guests exiting the ride on the second floor.
That would have been nice.
I'm sure I knew and have forgotten, but why was is shut down? Dorking around the playground used to be one of my favorite things. I think having the play/explore area in Imagination does wonders for the whole park. It's like you get to visit a nice, compact Children's museum with your admission.
You got it. Common practice the world over, but not very PR friendly.Another reason was because in case of a fire, and loss of the elevator, any handicapped persons would be placed in a "fire-safe" room and would await the arrival of RCID FD for assistance down and out of the pavilion.
I guess that kills off plans to have it open once more? You got it. Common practice the world over, but not very PR friendly.

Not at all. There are ways around it (physically, not legally)I guess that kills off plans to have it open once more?

True. Having another floor to explore really adds to the depth of the place. You would think... but Disneyland is really good at finding ways of modifying their 50-some year old structures to meet modern ADA standards. I'm sure with some creativity and a little of that $$$$, WDW could come up with a solution.
Feh! Look for a loophole? :lol:Not at all. There are ways around it (physically, not legally)
WDI has their Florida Base office in a building behind WOL. Then they also have a couple of trailers just for Epcot projects behind Soarin'.
