Yes, it stinks that a lot of people have been planning for a while and now everything's up in the air. Sit tight and continue plussing those ideas.
I do have some AMAZING contacts and they know how much the contest means to me and how I help promote the contest not to mention mentor teams. Teams that usually end up winning. LOL. What I wouldn't give to be the official imaginations leader....
Not sure what you mean by " . . .becoming more emphasis for individuals from IN."
Do you mean people from Indiana? Last year had a team from Indiana but before that, besides me, I have not heard of any other teams or individuals from my state entering and making it to finals.
It's hard to get in, even individuals that have made it to finals and done well in the contest and were lucky enough to have landed internships have not officially gotten in.
My hopes are that they would rework the rules and let anyone enter (even if you've entered the contest b4 and made it to finals). Maybe a battle of the all stars type of thing. I entered when they still had the individual category and I would LOVE to enter with a team seeing how teams are everything inside the walls in Glendale.
All of us Alumni who have made it to finals and even won look back on what we could of done better and if we only knew what we know now and how we can/could apply that to imaginations. LOL!!!
Well 2010 had a lot of entries, but from what I recall, 2009 was late to the game with promoting the contest and even updating the site.
It's not only about the teams being diverse but also the concept.
As for expo_seekers other 2 points...things have changed as to how you send your entry in and what judges look for....
