On the subject of Figment merchandise, I noticed that they do have plenty of Figment plush, however, all of them are naked Figments. I have yet to find one in recent years that has his classic yellow and red shirt on. And the weird thing about JIIwF is that all the AAs have the shirt but much of the animated Figments do not. :shrug:

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but in the original attraction, the only Figment that wore the signature yellow shirt was the one in the final room. It was a nice touch on all of the plushes of the day (the ones made in the mid 90s, in my opinion, were the nicest quality), but something we probably haven't seen since because it denotes a more quality Figment plush, and that just isn't what Disney is interested in producing. Instead, we get cheap holiday-themed beanbags of a purple dragon with an oversized nose.

His red and yellow sweater was included to better associate the Kodak brand (just as Figment is not green as originally intended because it was too-Fuji Film).

His sweater has appeared on a few items over the last few years (especially on pins) but not so much on the plush. However, his sweater was not a common inclusion back in the 80's or early 90s either, mostly on the plush.

Ahhh, to identify with Kodak. That makes a lot of sense too. I know he has the yellow sweater on in the WDCC figurine with Dreamfinder that came out last year. I still maintain that the new plushes that are holiday-themed are tacky...

No, I can promise you that the statue won't be used for such celebratory purposes. It really isn't THAT big of a deal, but its future use will signify better things for the pavilion to come...

I'm lucky to have my Figment with a red and yellow sweater from my trip in '97.

Does anyone know if there is part of the old ride still there and if it's still intact? What happened to everything else is it stored somewhere or did they pitch it? Not that I would want them to reuse everything over but perhaps a few key pieces maybe. Is the entire space that had the ride still there or is part of it being used for something else?

From what I've heard, there are parts of the ride in storage. Other portions of the ride were sold on eBay by MouseSurplus; who knows what happened to some other portions. I used to spend hours on there, just drooling over the vintage Figment/Dreamfinder stuff. I'd love to own some of that merchandise. Luckily, I found a vintage Figment stuffed-animal on eBay that was sold in EPCOT Center the year the attraction opened. Its on my bed, and I love it.

The area that the removed sections of the old ride took up now contain the queue and the current ImageWorks. There's a graphic floating around somewhere that shows an overlay of what the old ride used to be, what it is now, and what was taken out. Really the only "new" track added was the small bit that they added to connect the two ends of the removed part of the ride. (The new track is pretty much the unload platform and a short section after it)

I seem to recall that the blimp's auction was ended early by the seller. Was it then re-listed and sold?

eBay keeps the auction #s, but you won't be able to view the page, as it's too old of a listing. I tried to figure out where the Dreamcatcher now is a few months ago, and the best answer I got is that some guy in Kentucky (maybe Tennessee?) purchased it to use at a restaurant. Wouldn't I love to go to that restaurant. Maybe T.J. from FigmentsImagination.com would know what's going on with it...

Almost exactly the same as the shortened version we have today or almost exactly the same as the original longer version was. Also I'm assuming the extra scene you're talking about is the turntable scene. I'd love to see that added in, but they need to make sure it actually works because as I recall it always broke before didn't it?

I think it always broke before because the technology was a bit ahead of its time (and something they could never fully fix without a total redo) at this point, technology should easily allow that scene to be accomplished sans constant breakdowns, correct?

I just want my dreamfinder and figment back to normal and not eisnerfied like it has been, I want my upstairs back to normal too rainbow tunnel, pin tables and paint screens and all the stuff from my childhood days. Oh and give us a new 4d film or use that to extend the ride longer yahoo.

Let me clarify this first, the part about constant breakdowns, 99% of the time it isn't a ride problem because of mechanical breakdown, it does happen but not too often. Usually, problems are induced by guests or operators, guests standing up when they aren't supposed to, or not getting on and off vehicles fast enough, and then operators trying to comopensate for that, and slow everything down or stop it. and vehicles cascade or throw the timing off.

Have you ever seen that commercial about Visa? Where everything works like a well-oiled machine, everything is flowing smoothly like the garden supply or the cafeteria, then there is one person who makes everyone else stop, and clogs things up, then it goes again? You do that enough times and it gets things confused or clogged up and then they have to reset everything again and start over.

So if you are constantly slowing or stopping the ride and then restarting, then it will eventually have problems. If the rides were operated like they were designed, then there wouldn't be as many problems.

Actually, from what I recall, the auction was canceled right before time was up on bidding. The Dreamcatcher was pulled off the list for a couple of days and then came back, minus Figment. The auction for it was started again but this time, the information specifically stated that Figment was not included with the Dreamcatcher.
