IMO the most ironic part of WDW's history is when they tried to redesign the Imagination ride without actually USING any imagination :fork:
I've summed up my thoughts on this subject a few times before, but it goes like this...
The new versions of the ride are very easy to explain to someone who's never been on it, you go through some very generic scenes, nothing completely unique, pretty basic, run of the mill, real stuff...
The original pavilion...try explaining that to someone who was never on it, and it will take you a while and a lot of thought, and you still wouldn't come close to capturing the feeling of the attraction.
No matter what Disney does with the pavilion next, it will always be judged against the original, it's sad that with all of the technological advancements since 1982 that we have these excuses for attractions still in Epcot and not their superior originals.
