Trip Report I'm Tagging Along ~ LIVE! *COMPLETED*

Almost everybody has one ~ a friend or relative who doesn't think twice about inviting his/her self along with whatever you have planned.

I never thought I'd be that person.

Fortunately, I have a very understanding family who is actually excited about my joining them at WDW. < Phew! >

It's been a year since my last live trip report, so I hope I can do @JenniferS and her fans proud!

I told mom I would meet them after the show. I decided to hang out in the Liberty Inn....

image.jpeg

...but then I remembered I could be hanging out here.

image.jpeg

I got to enjoy the Chase Lounge for about 5 minutes before mom called in a panic and told me to go check in for lunch. It sounded like they had decided to skip AA and go right to lunch, even though our reservation wasn't for another half hour.

So I raced here:

Only to discover they were in fact not there. And I knew I could not check in without everyone present. So I ended up waiting in the restaurant lobby.

Live?!? So fun!!! As I am experiencing serious WDW withdrawals, aka DWD (Disney Wthdrawl Depression), I am living vicariously through you right now and I must say it's going great!

Love that you're there with lots of family, 3 generations! You get to experience the beauty of Disney from many points of view-kids, adults, and kids at heart.

Have fun!

I should have ordered another Tokyo Sunset to get me through a two hour lunch.

That's right...2 hours...including the 15 minutes I spent waiting for mom and dad to arrive. We were seated promptly and got our drinks right away, but our chef did not show up for almost a half hour. :jawdrop: If I hadn't eaten those F&W treats, I would have been one angry bear.

Mom and dad were famished. When our salads (correction: tiny bowls of iceberg lettuce) were finally brought out, we inhaled them.

Mom and dad had green tea. I wish I liked tea, but I just can't drink it.

Where have you been??!!!!!

We're going to be there for dinner on Friday. I hope it doesn't take 2 hours! Wow. Hopefully the food was good.

Our chef was subdued and short of creating the onion volcano, she was not entertaining. (Isn't that supposed to be part of the teppanyaki dining experience?) She was also the slowest hibachi cook we've had.

I ordered filet mignon and could not wait to dip it in the mustard sauce. Teppan Edo (formerly Mitsukoshi) is the only Japanese steakhouse with mustard sauce. YUM YUM YUM

The sauces used to come in a three section dish ~ one for mustard sauce (beef), one for ginger sauce (beef and chicken) and a white tartar sauce for seafood.

This is what we received:
image.jpeg

A big scoop of tartar sauce (mom was the only one at the table who ordered shrimp and she detests this sauce) and a small scoop of ginger sauce.

Me: "Where is the mustard sauce?"
Chef: "Oh, we don't have mustard sauce anymore."

YOU DON'T HAVE MUSTARD SAUCE ANYMORE??!!!

She brought out some teriyaki sauce for me and a couple others at our table "in place of mustard sauce." It tasted like it had come right out of a bottle of La Choy. :depressed:

While my filet tasted good, it would have been a thousand times better dipped in mustard sauce.
image.jpeg

Then our server disappeared. No water refills or checks given for a very long time. Then when she picked up the wallets, she was gone even longer.

And that, my friends, is why I spent two hours at Teppan Edo.

We ran into these guys outside Japan.

My brother said they have spent most of the day "meeting princesses" although currently there are no Photopass pictures to prove it. :cautious: However, there are 5 or 6 shots like this:

Are they giddy because they abandoned their kiddies somewhere?

T said that the girls were currently waiting to meet Aladdin and Jasmine. He was keeping the boys occupied by walking the promenade. Mom offered to stay with them. Dad was ready to return to POP for a nap and would take the boat from Morocco to Future World and drive himself to the resort. I thought it would be fun to surprise E and M at the character meet and greet and perhaps shop.

You know what they say about best laid plans....

The Aladdin/Jasmine meet and greet was a zoo. I couldn't see E and M anywhere and there was no way I could push forward in line without being rude. So I gave up and walked through the marketplace.

image.jpeg

Crowds had really picked up along the promenade as well. Not quite wall-to-wall people, but almost. And it was hot. Oh so very hot. And humid.

I lost my desire to shop and decided to return to POP with my dad. I waited for him at the car.

The boat is so much slower than walking, but it does save steps. I beat my dad to the car by several minutes.

I thought about getting in some pool time until I saw this:

So I've just been relaxing in my room. Going to MK later.

Mom and dad's reaction to Soarin as we were flying was priceless and brought me to tears. All the "oohs" and ahhs" and comments about "remember when we saw that?" (Unlike me, they are world travelers. My world travels consist of the 11 Epcot countries!)
.

That cracked me up. :joyfull: :)

You may be wondering where TEAML is this morning.
Why yes, I was wondering where TeamL was. :geek: That was actually a good plan for Daddy to take the Princess and spare the guys, they'll have a bit more energy for the rest of the day.

Fortunately they only waited 20 minutes. I hope they got pics, cause they aren't in our Photopass account.

What? You didn't strap your extra Magic Bands on Brother and SIL for photopasses? :jawdrop: :joyfull: ;)

I'm so sorry to hear that, is that the norm for there. We decided to do a 4 park hop the day we had an ADR for there and wound up cancelling. I haven't been there in forever and was hoping to make it back. Feel free to answer when you get home THNX

We were there last week. It was a long wait for a chef. We have been eating here almost every trip for decades. I have never seen this place operate anything but efficiently, this time anything but that. And we never did get our salads. They seem to be off their game but I do love their food. Hope your experience is better. Have fun.

Now that double stroller is perfect. Why can't people bring strollers like this one into the parks instead of those double width tanks that joined me on the MPB in the MK?
Kudos to them. :)
