I'm so excited I just can't hide it!! Doin' the I'm going to wdw Dance!!!

Only 16 more days, I don't count today, it seems closer thatta' way.:sohappy: We are going to wdw 8/10/09-8/14/09!!! I've planned this for 6 months. I started planning when I finally got a settlement , me and the kids had really been struggling, so I paid for my trip off right away, got the ddp, put away some spending money.( didn't want to waste any money on bills or food, ect.) I have dd13 and ds10. We've never been on a real vacation, camping , yes but no real vacation(campings hard work!)We live in North Texas, and yes I'm the Queen of my double wide:king:. Any ways everthing was going great, when out of the blue:eek: The store I worked at closed it's doors.I worked in the meat dept. at Piggly Wiggly's I cried like a baby:cry:. I loved Mr Hoggly Woggly He was the best person ever to work for, he let me come to work after I'd dropped the Kids at school and I got off in time to pick them up, sure I had to work 6 days a week to do that but it was well worth it!! But me and the kids are still going to wdw, is that wrong? I think we deserve it:eek: Gotta' look for silver linings right. I've gotten' all my adr's even the desert party at mk:slurp:. we're staying at cbr. Anyone else's going to wdw to celebrate life during times of trouble, any suggestions to first time vacationeers? Anyone to tell me step by step how to get off the plane and check in,OK I know put one foot in front of the other:ROFLOL:I've never posted anything any where before, never been this excited about a trip before, probably never get to go back, help me try to make this the best ever trip for my kids, thanks for all the stuff I've learned reading the post here!!!!

Dianna,

First I want to say welcome to the board, this is a place that you can get great advise from others.

I am glad to hear that you are getting an opportunity to go WDW w/ your kids. It sounds like you guys really need this get away.

As for flying in. I have not traveled to WDW by plane, but I know that 2 yrs ago my DD had her BF fly from VA to Orland by plane. I made the arrangements for him. So have you called Member srvcs to arrange for Magical Express ( will see it on the boards as ME). You give them you flight arrangements. Once you arrive @ the airport, there is a Disney ME area that you will be directed too, you load the bus & it takes you to the resort. you will not have to worry about your luggage.

I want to say & believe my family are seasoned Disney buffs. We plan ahead, as far as what parks we want to go to on what days. The the dining falls in place after that. For us our dining is all on what park or what will we be doing that day.

I want to say this is that there is so much to see @ WDW, you will not be able to do it all in one trip. So look at the Disney site maps and look at the rides and decide on what you really want to do and then if we get it done then if there is stuff we said maybe "want to do" go back and do it.

Also for the age of your kids sounds like they will like AK & DHS the most. MK will still be fun & magical, but they get to an age of the princess & fantasy gets stale. Again though since is their 1st trip they will be so excited.

Oh & let me tell you this for a priceless moment. When you walk into the MK & stand on Main St. looking at the Castle, just watch their faces. PRICLESS!!

Well I do not want to keep running on & on, but if you want to chat more, just let me know.

Take care & glad you are getting this chance to go to the World.

Thanks for the help Shelly. My question is, can my ds go in line with us then not ride rides, and wait for my dd and I at the exit of ride? It's so nice to talk to someone who knows wdw! Thank you!

I went down this year. July 12-18. We stayed at the Polynesain. It was a nice resort. I think that this year was one of the best years that i went down. We didnt want to leave at all. But i think now im starting to really become a die hard Disney fan! You will wanna keep coming back. Have fun

03 Carribean Beach
05 Port Orleans Riverside
07 Wilderness Lodge

Your enthusiasm is contagious. I know exactly what you mean, I have 4 days myself and am pretty much doing a party dance around the office. I am having a hard time sitting still.

So here is my advice.

Savor the moment, the little things that in the end will mean so much. Have a great time and while your there, try not to think about anything other than the fact that you are in Disney. With your kids...

Have a magical time.

Thanks everybody!!!

I've spent every spare moment planning, reading tips and looking at pictures. Getting ready has been so much fun. I don't think I've ever studied this hard for anything, except maybe when I was Preggers. To bad they don't have wdw degrees in college, I'd go for it!!

Have a great vacation. You deserve it. Enjoy every moment. The best thing about Disney is there are no mistakes, because everything you do is fun. I arrive in WDW is 26 days. Cant hardly wait myself. WDW is the only place that takes you away from all the misery of reality and puts you into a fantasic world of fantasy, and those few days you spend there make life worthwhile. You become childlike again. I am a huge fan of Disney. My vacation in WDWputs me in a much better place and helps me to face the year ahead. Hope your vacation does the same for you.:lol::sohappy:

Not being from the south I always find the word "piggly wiggly" so amusing. I thought it was a joke for awhile but I was assured by a friend a few years back that they are indeed a real store. Now I read the Mr. "hoggly woggly" is there too? What? That has got to be a joke, right?

Anyway, have a great trip. I always find that WDW is a great place for me to leave the "real" world all behind. Usually about the time I see the signs for Disney I start to relax and get in my vacation mode.

As far as the airport goes, just follow the signs to Magical Express and check in, they will do the rest for you.

Try not to overthink anything, we stick together and make sure we ask each other what we all want to do next. If we make an attempt to do one thing each of us want to do then the day has been a good one. We have been countless times and we have not seen it all or done it all and I hope we never come away feeling like we can't go back and do it all again.

Don't be afraid to ask for directions and make sure you stick together, the fun will follow you, I promise. Have a great trip, suspend the real world for the time you are there and when you get home you will be able to face anything!

Mr Pig

Hoggly Woggly was a nick name for Mr Wiggly, we did actually have a store mascot. The costume was much like those at wdw, he'd come to events such as halloween parties. I never took any pictures of him, I didn't know our time together would be so short (6yrs). Did you ever see driving Miss Daisy, Thats where she shopped. I'll miss the "Pig" they still have 'em, stop by one if you ever get the chance, the our little town just couldn't support ours with all the big stores moving in.

9 more days to wdw

:sohappy: 3 days ago the kids and I got a package, (I ordered it from the Disney store) it was full of wrapped gifts from our friends at disney. My ds 10 got a Buzz action figure, the card said welcome aboard from Buzz. dd 13 got stationary from Areil, and a card of welcome from her, and i got a tink doll welcome, which is now in dd room, thought she was to old for dolls. Then yesterday a box from oriential trader, Mickey tattoos, tink tattoos, disney princess tattoos, mickey stickers (to write our names on and tag our stuff) glow sticks, I thought they were necklaces but they have a hook to hang them. The excitment is growing!!!! Thanks everybody for all the great advice and for giving me a place to go to while I been full of nervous excitment!

It'll get here and be gone so fast.....

don't be nervous, if you forgot anything you can always buy it when you get there. Did you remember to figure something out for your mail while you're gone? I always have the post office hold it for me and then i pick it up when i get back.
