Yes, sir. It was in World Showcase Plaza, I perched myself right up against the railing dead center. There were maybe two or three other people there. It was like having a special, private moment with my beloved EPCOT to celebrate her birthday.



It is from the 'Suite of Dreams - Discovery' off of the Magic in the Streets CD made for the 100 Years of Magic Celebration. I believe the 25th Tag was the first time the music was actually used in the park in any meaningful fashion.

VERY nice. Were they doing music? It must have been great.


And I MUST find this music, now! Think Mousebits has it?

Yeah, they had the music. And as strange as it sounds, I don't remember if they tested the pyro or not. It was kind of funny, to get the test started, they kind of skipped forward through some sections of IllumiNations beforehand. So you'd see some of it go (without fireworks), and then it'd stop all of a sudden. And then you'd hear quick snippets of the show every few seconds for a bit, and then it start up again farther along in the show.

I don't think I've ever seen it on MouseBits, I know we have to be careful about distributing music that Disney sells or has sold. I'm sure you can go on eBay or Amazon for the CD. It features the parade music from that Celebration: Share a Dream Come True, Stars and Motor Cars, and Jammin' Jungle. There is also a set of four songs called the Suite of Dreams that were made with the idea of serving as a kind of movie soundtrack for the parks, as it's described in the liner notes. They're mostly comprised of the themes from the parades. The track for EPCOT, 'Discovery', starts with the beginning of Tapestry of Dreams without the children's voices and dreamweavers. After the first section of vocals, it segues into the music that you heard at the of the 25th Tag.

Illuminations with the Holiday tag is my favorite thing in Walt Disney World. We go every December for a week, and I push to end up in Epcot 3 or 4 times to see it.

They ran it from the beginning... It was almost as if someone had a a big Experimental Prototype Remote Control of Tomorrow somewhere and was intermittently fast-forwarding through the show. That's typical when they test the various tags every few months.

Was there any countdown for the new year itself, though? I just know that Celebrate the Future was played.

Yeah, every few months, as in they test the fourth of July tag in June, and then they test the holiday tag a few months later in November, and then they test the New Year's tag about a month later in December, and then back to the fourth of July a few months later in June... so what's your question?

They did something kinda like it during C25 and the special tags. More little flame "puffs" than whips, but still... :shrug:

Watch the C25 Tag again...I've heard tell that a LOT of the show was experimental and new pyro to be used in future shows.

There was a countdown roughly the same speed if the current one. It was a female voice and there was no perimeter pyro. A few shells in the lagoon would break on 9...8...7... and then continue with Auld Lang Syne which is still used.

They were. Or at least they were prototypes.

And VERY nice. Must have been huge seeing that they had ROE just before it!
