Illuminations question

I read somewhere on the internet that you can use your Disney Club to get into a special viewing location for Illuminations. Well, they weren't sure if it still worked or not.

I know with the AP holders you get special viewing but I am not one.

I do remember when the Disney Club was the MK Club that I got something in the mail that allowed me to go to the area just below the Rose & Crown Pub to view from there.

So, does anyone know if I can get some special view location with the Disney Club?

Thanks,

Kerri-54 days and counting:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

I'm a club member but I don't remember hearing this, I might be wrong. I find it weird though that I sent in for Lilo and Stitch tickets with my Club Card the first day is was offered but I didn't get them. Yet when I went to the Disney Store and spent a little money I got them free.

I have not heard about the disney club special viewing area privledges but I can tell you this. We were down in early may for our first ever visit. A vender told us where to be for the best viewing and he was correct. Go to Mexico and sit in the outdoor eating area out front. The parade will begin near by as well but the view from here is the best I believe for Illinuminations. We got there about an hour early and could not find a table to sit at. Just had to sit on the edge of a tree but what a show!!!!! And just so you know, Fantasmic (if you havent seen it, is not to be believed!) Hope you have as great a time as we did. 7 nights, 2 at Animal Kingdom Lodge and 5 at Wilderness Lodge. What a great and awesome experience it was!

there is no special viewing area; I actually think the best viewing area is right at the entrance to World Showcase, directly across from the American Adventure. The area opens at 8:45 and everyone has to sit down. It's also the closest you can get to the fireworks of anywhere along the World Showcase Promenade--and, the American Adventure is one of the three nations that has laser effects, so you get to see them! AND you are the first to the buses afterwards!

That is the BEST place to watch Illuminations as long as the wind isn't blowing in that direction. If it is, don't try and sit there. Take it from someone who watched Illuminations 109 times.

LMAO....

109 times?....how do you know exactly, Brent?....sheesh....

...also, there use to be a boat excursion that took you out onto the lake to see Illuminations...it was expensive unless you were able to hook up with another family or two to fill the boat to capacity and split the cost...don't know if this is still available.

Yes! We had that promotion but it only lasted 2 days in our store because the tickets ran out! Spend $50 and get 2 free tickets to Lilo & Stitch. It was like getting something for nothing! We CM's get to see the movie for free but we are not offered pre-screenings. :(

The special arrangements for Disney Club Card holders could have been cancelled due to the number of people who now have the card. Many companies offer it as a benifit to their employees.

As a CM at the store, 1 out of every 5 paying guests or so have the card. I have the card too. I got it before I was a CM when I worked at a hospital. I still get the member info and benifits. Sometimes the special offers the card holders get are not even offered to CM's. That's why I kept mine.

The only special viewing areas I know of are the little patio resteraunt in front of the UK and the disable vieing area.
