IllumiNations, NEW SOUND EFFECTS!

Has anyone noticed the new sound effects that have been introduced into the beginning of ROE? There are 2 new sounds which to me resemble a dinosaur roaring. I have seen this show live a hundred times and have never heard these before. I have uploaded a short (less than 2 min) video which I shot that shows 3 examples of this new effect. The first vid was taken last Saturday (June 1) at WS Plaza, which just featured the normal audio. The 2nd was taken a few nights later from Italy which was the first time we heard the effect, and since we never saw the show from Italy we figured maybe it was something only heard there?? The 3rd example was the very next night back at WS Plaza, the sounds were there clear as a bell, so obviously this is something new.

Please check it out and leave some feedback, this is my ALL TIME FAV SHOW!!

These sounds are not new. I have them from the Epcots 30th show track (its an elephant) and they were heard prior to that too. I believe they only play through select audio channels, though why WS did and didn't have them I don't know.

Martin, so these are "new" as of Oct of 2012? The last time I had seen the show before last week was June of 2012 so that would explain why I never heard them. It is weird why the plaza didn't have them that time, and like I said, I've seen the show a hundred times and never heard them before, they wouldn't have slipped by me ;)

I heard them in Italy 2 weeks ago, but I don't usually hear them when we sit in Mexico. Italy was new for us. Otherwise we always sit between Mexico and Norway.

We had our wedding night dessert party at Italy Isola West, and we were getting our photos taken on the bridge while our guests enjoyed the show below us. We were watching that part where the globe comes out and heard the elephant noise, and I saw my parents' heads whip around and look up at me with puzzled looks on their faces - it was hilarious! We've seen the show hundreds of times since it debuted, but we're usually not in a private viewing area! It's amazing how much clearer it is there than other places - sometimes you really have to be listening for it.

That is the exact same ROE soundtrack as usual, but they are updating the audio system and readjusting audio levels so you might hear it louder or clearer in some areas. It supposed to be evened and leveled out. Also not every speaker plays the same audio it's not mono, it is in stereo so some speakers are playing the left channel and other speakers are playing the right channel and others just play special effects.

You know, my wife and I were going through some old picture albums and scanning old pics into the computer before the pics go bad on the acid pages, and we found one of my parents old WDW albums from 1984. I was 8-9 years old then, and remember the wonder that Epcot was back then in its infancy. Which brings me to my point...

Looking at the pictures of the fireworks show, and the floating ball out in the water, remembering it in 1984, and then seeing ROE Christmas 2012, its nearly the SAME DAMNED SHOW. Talk about milking something to ridiculous ends (looking at you CAPTAIN EO!), this fireworks show takes the cake.

Just update it to a WOC type show, and milk that sucker for 30 years like you did with ROE. Time for a change.

The Globe was introduced in 1999 along with the Reflections of Earth Show.

I don't believe they are on the CD.
I recall some are but very very quietly. You only really hear them if you know what to listen for.

Here's Epcots 30th RoE show, with audio direct from the show system. Listen from the 26 minute mark and you'll hear a lot more effects. Dolphins for sea, jungle noises and birds for foliage, elephants for animals, a watefall and the like. Like has been mentioned above these are original effects but are more prominent now.

I remember hearing the sounds very early in the 2000s. I thought it was pretty neat.

Epcot firework shows are fireworks, lights and music on a lake. Yea it's the same thing, just presented totally differently over the years. You can say the same about Mk shows. It's just fireworks over the castle, with some to the side and some lights.

RoE is immensely better than the other lagoon shows of the 80s and 90s. Next year, RoE will have its 5,000th show. It has the popularity of remaining for another 5,000 shows.

@Alektronic beat me to it. Yes, like @marni1971 said, the elephants have always been there. They are there as transitionary elements, going into the new sequence. You hear them before you see them, matching elephants later in the video on the globe.
I don't believe they are on the CD.

They are on the dedicated Illuminations CD, directly from the master. Should be the same for the other CD's.
