IllumiNations inferno barge?

The capacity of the tank is 400 gallons of propane.

Carrying all the conversions, it translates to the amount of fuel required to fly 150 people from Jacksonville to Orlando.

Stated more simply, it's a drop in the ocean compared the fuel consumed by travelers coming to EPCOT.

I was there with my parents in early April. My father saw the "inferno barge" go off and said, "That's wrong! That's not supposed to happen." He thought something caught fire by accident. He kept saying it over and over to the point I really thought something was wrong. Another guest leaned over and said, "Um. Sir, it's supposed to be that way." My Dad's response was he had never seen a fireworks show do that before. I told my Dad, that was kind of the point.

I must have overlooked that this was going down for refurb... but I guess Disney doesn't put the barge on the refurb list!?! I most certainly missed it on our trip I just returned from. The show is just not the same without it!

A recent youtube video suggests that it's back. Can anyone confirm?
It was not back as of Friday's show.

I don't believe it was there Saturday either, but my view was obscured by trees (I was in Japan right at the exit to the shop). Too many fireworks went off (IMO) for it to have been back.

It wasn't there tonight either. Although it was so humid tonight all the smoke just hung around and made for a great visual effect for the lasers and fireworks, super foggy.

I have managed to linger in the park a few times and catch the Inferno Barge burn off after park closing. Scared the bejesus out of us the first time, but totally cool to see. :D

They do have a killer laser display when the inferno barge is missing, you can't see it when the barge is there because the fire washes them out but there good for then it's missing. They also use some effects from the older shows during chaos you normally won't see when the inferno barge is there, and there the best laser effects thru out he show. It's kind of a nice change and something different.

Sadly that was scrapped a few years back when the burn off was incorporated into the end of Chaos.

Ack! I had no idea. This is what happens when I don't get to make my yearly trips to the Mouse House....I miss things. I will have to inform my girlfriend that a research trip must be made this summer to confirm this.

They realized they could do the blowoff during the show when the Earth Globe was out for an extended refurb a few years back. To add an oomph, they moved the blowoff to the final moments of the show. Someone must've realized that made for a faster removal process of the barges because when the Globe came back from refurb was when they moved the blowoff to the end of Chaos.

I have to say, though, was that it was funny when they added Evening EMH to the parks and had to add an explanatory warning before the blowoff because too many people were still in the parks getting scared by the random flames.

I've been trying to find a good video from this year with no inferno barge. No luck so far, anyone know of any?

Do a search for something like "epcot fireworks" and then under Filter have it list them by upload date. The newest (and thus most likely to not contain the inferno barge) will be at the top.

Thanks, i didnt think of "epcot fireworks" i always put the title of the show.

Edit: After watching the video, it seems like some of the new fireworks don't have the same effect as the old ones do.

Yes indeed. I'm attaching some pics that show the pyro that I think was far superior to the current versions, most notably, the red fan-like pyro that seemed to fly off in every direction.
