Illuminations Earth Barge "Issues" & Drunk ECV Driver (9/28)

Can't really comment on the F&W people (although I did see my share of drunks), or the earth globe the the starting illusion from ROE has been spotty at best the past few months. I've seen EVERY combination of one of the shells not firing, be it the one from the AA or the ones above the water. This includes seeing NONE of them some nights.

I see Illuminations every night (I work there as a CP), and it's been having issues for the past week now. I'm sure they are trying to resolve that issue before Monday or just trying to tease everyone for the special finale on Monday October 1st :)

Sorry to hear about the difficulties with RoE. I must say though, watching two drunk people yell at each other can be pretty funny, depending on what words come out of their mouth, especially in a place like WDW.

Thanks, it is my favorite coaster by a wide margin.

After riding Maverick several times this summer, it overtook MF for me.

Amateurs

I hail from New Orleans. Not that I would, but I could certainly drink from each country and NOT get ignorant. Why do these people try to do something that takes years to perfect?:ROFLOL::lookaroun

Really though, why get drunk at WDW (or anywhere) anyway? It's not the place really. There are places set up for all the drunks in the world to spend their money. Bars with more imports than Epcot could imagine. And mostly the alcohol is cheaper outside of WDW.

I drink. There's nothing wrong with a drink or two (or a beer or two). But the last place anyone should get drunk is Disney World. It's a family themepark. (At WDW) if people can tell you've been drinking, you've had too much. I don't want to go to WDW and deal with obnoxious drunks. I think the castmembers should have a lot of latitude in refusing to serve and asking people to leave the park if it becomes necessary. Just my opinion.

And they're putting a tequila bar in Mexico?

As an update the preshow music was playing over the opening spiel tonight as well but I was quite busy and didn't notice if the fireworks worked or not.

Wow! Those are some impressive reviews of Maverick, kind of ticked I didn't ride it. Only went once this year and there was no way I was waiting in a 2 1/2+ hour line, the end of the line was near the RR station all day.

Yea, I lucked out each time I went, it never got longer than a 1 hour 45 minute wait. All in all, the ride is un-relenting, from start to finish.

Mmm... I've been there a couple times where the first firework (comet) didn't go off, and when the next set of fireworks didn't go off (two separate nights). I guess when you've seen it as much as I have (you probably have) you start to notice things that go wrong. Don't even get me started about Fantasmic! heheh :)

I don't think you should be allowed to drive an ECV drunk. Too many people can't even drive them sober. And I'm gonna guess that if you're in an ECV you have a health ailment that you're most likely on medication for and you shouldn't be drinking.

Perhaps WDW should start giving Breathalyzers tests and DUI's to EVC drivers under the influence. Be a great source of extra income...:lookaroun

Thursday the 27th would have been the better day to go. They had a soft opening of the F&WF. Illuminations was awesome as usual. All the food kiosks were open, the crowds were light. Test Track was a walk on. Soarin was a 15 minute wait.

Half the guests who rent the ECV's have no idea how to drive them in the first place so not being able to drive one while drunk isn't really a big deal in the long run.

I've had a full queue every single time (to the end of the marked railings/entrance, not the railroad station... yikes). Due to the crew being totally awesome at running around and putting out the trains really quickly, I've never waited more than an hour. (Then again, no breakdowns, either.) :D

...So, how 'bout that Food & Wine Fest? :lookaroun

Just returned yesterday. Great trip. But during the MNSSHP, a very large woman in a ECV came out of nowhere, going pretty fast for one of those vehicles, at least too fast for the crowded conditions, and rolled completely over my left foot and kept on going, even after I yelled an expletive and almost fell to the ground!! I don't even think she knew what she did? I yelled out an apology to everyone ELSE who turned around after my yelling out, and a nice cast member got a cup of ice. I now have a black and blue mark over my left instep, and I swear you can see the treadmarks. It cut short our night, but we had seen the first Boo to You parade, so what the heck. All week we did not need one fastpass, not even for Soarin, so if that is the worst that could happen, oh well. But the fact that she kept going really made me mad for about an hour!
