Iger Vacations at WDW this week

I have a hard time viewing Iger's visit to WDW as anything less than a positive. Let's just hope it might open his eyes a little bit.

If I were Iger, I would take a notebook on every attraction and write notes on what needs work.

If I were Iger I would secretly do that before, then within a few days have the prez of WDW and the veeps of WDW to do the same, then see who sees more things wrong.

But you gotta remember, walt was a pro who CARED about his product, he wasn't looking for billions of dollars in profit, he was paid in MILLIONS of guest happyness and world wide noterioty (sp?), known for not just doing it, but doing it RIGHT.

Sorry, but you're really off on that. Walt Disney was all about profit and making money.

Yeah, Walt was so about profits that if it wasn't for Roy the company would've gone bankrupt b/c of Walt's ambitious plans. Geez, study your Disney history some.
Dig a little deeper while doing your reading. :)

Yeah, Roy provided some short term buffer, but Walt loved to turn the profit. Find out why WED was a different business unit, look to see who wanted the sponsors brought in. Walt did both to increase profits.

And he also scrapped Pinnochio and told them to start over when they already spent 500,000 on it because it wasn't good enough. So obviously he only cared about profit.

I have, and the reasons why they were like that was to bring in enough money to support the projects. If he wouldn't have had them the company wouldn't have lasted.

My initial reply was to someone saying Walt did not care about profit. I believe I have shown that, yes, he was into turning a profit. Now, you're trying to turn it around with your normal sanctimonious attitude and putting words in my mouth. Where did I state he ONLY cared for profit. Try another strawman argument.

Oh, and I'll raise you...

Oh, we're using SAT words now, eh?

"Walt Disney was all about profit and making money."

Sure sounds like you were trying to say Walt was ALL about money to me.

And I see your :rolleyes: and raise you a :brick:

WOW. Just WOW. You clearly know nothing about Walt and have no idea what you're talking about (of course you never really have in the first place, so no surprise really). I suggest you read "Walt Disney: Triumph of the American Imagination" by Neal Gabler and come back and say the same thing.

What a great book. Seriously.

I agree. If he has spent anytime at all at the other Disney Resorts around the world he should instantly recognize any short comings that could possibly exsit at WDW. Whether he chooses to act upon it is a hold different subject.

Could I place a side bet on you?

I sent an e-mai to Mr Iger (as well as many other executives) back in February concerning my 8 day trip to WDW in January. It's very obvious to me this trip was entirely based on what I had to say. It's really very flattering to think TWDC holds my opinion in such high esteem! :D
