If he wasn’t making near daily mistakes out of desperation/inability to adjust that could have potential long term ramifications

Interesting.I didn’t ask. But it’s the code and the fact the cannons are treated as critical show doors by the RCS that’s the issue.
All because the cheap and cartoony themes happen to be IP… but there’s also some cheap but realistic themes thrown in too due to that.I wouldn’t say ruined but I agree it’s been going steadily downhill since about 2015. So ironic that DCA 2.0 replaced a cheap and cartoony theme with a classic and timeless theme only to be replaced again with cheap and cartoony themes.
He was never gonna do that…because at the time he didn’t want to give creative credence to the Lucas materialMr Igor seems to have got the star wars thing completely wrong, personally IMO it should of been Tatooine , and should of had all kinds of star wars characters walking around , but keeping with the same ole characters of Kylo and his troopers seems pretty boring. i do love the look of GE, but it needs tweaks for sure, people may not agree, but the merch is a real let down, why not have classis star wars toys , lightsabers, books etc, in those stores, stop story driving everything you do, and i still say star wars between 77-83 if far the best we've ever had. so they should lean on that , change MFSR into tie fighter attack or something a lot more exiting than they have now. and don't get me started on EPCOT, i don't mind the updates at all, it looks pretty cool, but please please look at the imagination pavilion, and give figment a proper attraction, either do this or let him go, cos a person in a suit at 6ft is ridiculous , make him small enough and bring back dream finder to hold him, so all in all we need to change not just 1 person, but all 3 of them, honestly watching D23 is more like a apple convention now, be interesting to see now the dust has settled what people really think of these new lands/updates ,cos if you think Indy doesn't belong in M.K in Adventureland please leave now, and thank you for all you've done.
Lucas gave him clearance by now it seems, and once he passes on… muahahahahahaha. He was never gonna do that…because at the time he didn’t want to give creative credence to the Lucas material
It started long before that!I wouldn’t say ruined but I agree it’s been going steadily downhill since about 2015. So ironic that DCA 2.0 replaced a cheap and cartoony theme with a classic and timeless theme only to be replaced again with cheap and cartoony themes.
2011, when they began to shut down the hand drawn department? It started long before that!
What happened then?If you want a date that no one seems to understand that vastly affected Disney…it’s 10/5/2011
Steve Jobs died…which led to Iger being allowed to control his board with no checks possibleWhat happened then?
Does it ever work anymore? I saw it 5-6 times during soft opening and a few months after, but never have seen it again.I didn’t ask. But it’s the code and the fact the cannons are treated as critical show doors by the RCS that’s the issue.
I don't doubt it, but this just seems like a failure of resources and incompetence. This is not a complex task in this world. Safety is #1, but coding this doesn't seem complex enough (particularly with schematics and access to source code) to stump them for this long.Quite the opposite. A lot of time and money has gone into trying to understand the issue.
The entire problem started with the lack of proper promotion of House of Mouse, the eventual sidelining of that approach as a result and instead going with (IMO) the most unimaginative/soulless route possible.. making him a very bland, uninspired Dora the Explorer clone, retaining none of the nuance and unique identity & appeal he had initially other than basic character design & voice basically. Notice how they don’t even mention any of the development of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or the failure to market House of Mouse & MouseWorks properly in their recent “Story of a Mouse” documentaries/history lookbacks. House of Mouse isn’t even available to watch ‘on’ their service.. There’s a reason for that folks…The character of Mickey has (largely) suffered at his hands as his status of mascot of the company has decayed and is now replaced with essentially Baby Yoda, Iron Man and Elsa. The short films were cute and a breath of fresh air for Mickey but Iger (and the guy who was keeping his seat warm while he was in his pandemic bunker) hasn't done a major 2D project for Mickey like those before him. It's kinda sad to see how fair even Mickey Mouse has fallen.
Heck, with Wish, if they wanted to not go whole hog with the princess dealio to try and be more like Dreamworks with villains and Toei with love interests, and focus more on a “WE ARE STARS” message, it would have been a perfect movie for Mickey. But just do it better. The entire problem started with the lack of proper promotion of House of Mouse, the eventual sidelining of that approach as a result and going with the most unimaginative/soulless route possible.. making him a Dora the Explorer clone, retaining none of the nuance and unique identity & appeal he had initially other than basically character design. On top of it, keep in mind, the reason things like Three Musketeers never got a theatrical release was because Eisner deemed 2D animation dead. (And personally I feel Iger feels the same way for the most part) I believe this is another reason for the lack of proper promotion of MouseWorks/House of Mouse and other related nuanced and balanced approaches aswell. Also, a bit unrelated, but I personally think the recent shorts are too extreme and not nuanced enough to appeal to as many people as they could. They are too edgy in a Ren & Stimpy sense, lacking the character integrity & overall appeal they need. They’re more like parodies. It’s basically the same issue as Clubhouse but on the opposite side of the spectrum. But yeah.. just sad
Yeah. But do you think modern Apple could do a good job in Jobs’s stead?Steve Jobs died…which led to Iger being allowed to control his board with no checks possible
Doesn’t work and will never work
Gotta respectfully disagree with you on that. Infact, I’d argue Wish has much of the same exact issues as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and the majority of their modern day preschool programming. It lacks enough depth, development, appeal, charm, and nuance to truly make the impact their older features did. Doing it with Mickey only would’ve tarnished his reputation more than some of the other efforts as of late have.Heck, with Wish, if they wanted to not go whole hog with the princess dealio to try and be more like Dreamworks with villains and Toei with love interests, and focus more on a “WE ARE STARS” message, it would have been a perfect movie for Mickey.

Look at some of Mickey’s past featurette & film efforts (say, the Mickey and the Beanstalk segment of Fun & Fancy Free, Prince & the Pauper, Three Musketeers and those come much closer to what a full length film could be. As can be said for the animated segments of films like Saludos Amigos & Three Caballeros and how they compliment the overall theme when it comes to their Goofy & Donald segments, Same goes for A Goofy Movie when it comes to the type of emotional depth & nuance they were able to get into the characters & story that otherwise were mostly comedy/visual gag focused)
Ah, forgive me for that first part of my message. Had to re-read your post, initially misread it as you saying Wish would’ve been the perfect format for a Mickey film (lol) looks like basically you have the same thoughts as me regarding how a Mickey film ( let alone Wish) should’ve been done, Awesome lolExactly.
