I initially was going to choose buffets because of what a lot of people mentioned—people touching/getting too close to the food. But that’s easily remedied with staff serving like mentioned above is several posts.
The self-serve drink stations are what need to go (especially the water coolers at Starbucks where NO ONE uses the provided cups to fill their personal water bottle). People stick their disgusting, germ-filled water bottles up on those things and fill ‘em up! 🤢 They so the same at the resorts with the reusable resort cups—come in, I know some wash them out but even so, those things are NOT CLEAN!! And then they stick them up I. That soda dispenser!!! Ew. So. Gross!!

Its a safe bet that refillable popcorn, self service drinks in the resorts and parks, open food (for example the bakery items at resorts), self service buffets will be gone indefinitely at Disney world.

I hate those “personal” coke touch screen stations...they suck, no one knows how to use them, and people, that don’t pay for drinks, keep holding the line down trying to get something for nothing.

Then there are those people who get to the front and then decide to scroll through all the damn flavors trying to decide what to get...I could blow my top just watching this fiasco.

I’m trying to breathe slowly now...

Then they're discarding the drink they filled up with because they don't want the 20+ flavors they put in the dang cup!!! OY, so annoying!! Hate it all--just go back to having the CM fill your cup!!

This thread validates that most people are germaphobes. Totally understandable on the current situation.

Call me gross but when I see a strand of hair on my food, I will still eat it. If I'm at the buffet and a piece of food fell at the counter while getting food to my plate, I will pick it up and put it in my plate or eat it right there.

I bet you love it when people wait until they're at the cashier to start looking at the menu and finally decide what to order. I can't stand that! 🤨

I would need emergency mental health counseling if I did either of those things 🤣

Yikes, just reading about the drink stations. You really dont think about how gross they are until you really think about it. Everything really :hungover::hungover:

I thought about that as well. I just started playing with the numbers and trying to determine which they might be more likely to do. CMs serving from the buffet would enable them to keep their more standard buffet menus, but it makes me wonder if it would increase operating costs to have extra people on the floor serving from the buffet. With the losses they'll be trying to recover, I see them pushing for whichever approach covers enough of the expected guest experience while keeping on eye on expenses.

They could have the cooks do it. In certain Buffets they have cooks who are "runners" who run to the hot boxes to replenish the buffets when they run out. They could also have a cook on each station serving guests. The biggest problem I see there is making sure the guests don't all congregate in a line in one station.

Agree to disagree...there are a slew of worldwide reasons for people to eat and act healthier...I’ll throw Disney catering to that crowd on that pile.

My opinion.

We can discourage it/make it harder without eliminating it entirely (I.E. smoking). Agree to disagree, as you said. There’s definitely a slippery slope there.

I don’t mind people taking their time...I have kids, too. I like to go on vacation and take it easy...just don’t do it while others are ready to pay and move along. Just step to the side.

I voted for pools because I don't think I've ever once set foot in a Disney pool, but I'd be okay with losing everything on the list except the theater shows and stand by queues, because without them what are you even going to do? You'd be limited in the number of rides you could get on and a bunch of other attractions would be closed.

I'd miss the Boma breakfast buffet, but that's the only buffet I ever go to, so not a huge loss there. Don't really care about parades or meet and greets. I like fireworks, but they aren't a big deal to me -- I don't usually go out of my way to see them. I despise the Coke Freestyle machines and never use them.
