We have just returned from a fabulous family 12 day vacation at POR & AKL ... and now we get an email PIN which we can't use b/c it's only good till June 2010.

I am very excited, somehow we got on that list :sohappy: but what are the chances more will be sent our way?

I have been sent two - but it's been a really long time since I've gotten one again. As much as we have tried to "crack the code", it just seems to be random. Just make sure you are signed up for everything and all your info is up to date. Have a great trip!

I got three PINs last year. Used one for 40% off at Beach Club.

Have four Disney trips planned this year, haven't received one [yet].

DH & I have gone to Disney each year since 2002, and I only got our first pin code at the end of 2009 which I used for our upcoming trip. I have always been signed up for everything that is Disney, so I truly think it's just random.

I booked my trip in Jan 09 at high cost. Only put down the deposit. By April or May I got a PIN that virtually cut my package costs in half :) So snagged on it! However, after that I did receive another 3 pins....but didn't or couldn't use them. Again, they are very random.

I have a trip "planned" November this year and have yet to receive one. But I'm hoping for some magic!

Question

How is everyone getting PIN codes? We have been every year for the past 5 years and I have never recieved a PIN code. We always book through Disney online so they have my email and mailing address. I am hoping to get a free dinning PIN for September this year. Otherwise I will wait for the end of this month/early April and see if they offer it to the Disney rewards members before the general public.

No one really knows for certain. Or if they do they aren't telling. It maybe random, maybe partially random, may be completely targeted based on demographics. Consensus seems to be to get your name on every Disney Parks like you can find. Sign up for newsletters, request the planning video each year, etc. Some people have done that and still get none, other people haven't done that and get several. But of course, if Disney doesn't know how to get in touch with you, then they can't send you anything. ; )

I've gotten about 8 pins in the last three years. A friend of mine told me a trick he tried and it has worked.

Call and make reservations about every 6 months. Take the option to make a deposit within one week. Never pay the deposit and let the reservation expire. I receive pin codes all the time now. I think they send them trying to get you to go through with a reservation. In any case I've received 8 pins since i've started doing this. Maybe it is coincidence, maybe not.
