If you get a letter saying your husband drove through an area known for prostitution, don't worry!

Orlando seems to have excess money to spend, lol. They're putting cameras on cop cars that will take pictures of random license plates and send out letters to the house telling you the car drove through an area known for prostitution.

Just drove through. Not stopped. Not attempted anything illegal. Just drove through. That's it.

It does rather beg the question, "If they know the area has crime, why not go after the criminals? Why spend money sending letters out to innocent people?"

Having recently been lost and passing a Lady Of The Evening during my drive out of Lostland, I have to wonder if I'll get a letter. I also worry about the poor men who have wives picking up the mail to see he drove through an area known for prostituion. I can just hear the call to her best friend: "He was an hour late on Tuesday and said he was lost! Now I get this!" Or tourists. Oh, heavens.

There are hungry people in Orlando. Battered women. Young, pregnant girls and sick, old people. I have to think this money could have been better spent. But that is how they've chosen to spend money.

Maybe they are trying to deter locals so as to reduce traffic on the alternate route from Altemonte Springs to the Orlando Airport. Yeah, that's it. I was taking a client to the airport and I-4 was backed up like it always is.

So WKMG, a local Orlando station, is now national news? ;)
WKMG is Channel 6, Orlando. And I'd rather watch their early morning news team than any of the national ones.

Troy is the funnest weather guy ever. :)

It's about time someone brought justice to this issue! I'm just shocked that it took this long to happen.
You mean the issue of illegal prostitution or the issue of those moral-less infidels who happen to drive through a bad neighborhood? (Because apparently the city of Orlando doesn't know which offense is worth going after the most).

Get a lawyer on retainer to sue the living crap out of Orange county when one of these letters comes to your house.

LOL -- this is happening in Sanford.... which is neither Orlando nor Orange County. However, it is the home of Larry the Cable Guy and George Zimmerman! :D
