If Test Track were to get a refurb in the future what would you like to see done?

The state of Test Track right now is really quite bad, nothing seems to be working. Here's what I'd do.
-Revamp the onboard audio/video
-Upgrade all TVs to LCD and digitize video
-Replace ABS video equipment with new technology
-Dust, clean, and make everything seem active again
-Reinstall the working doors in the evasive maneuver scene
That's what needs to be done, here's what I'd add...
-Why are there no actual people on the course? Seems slightly weird there's nobody around eh? Install some giant video screens or something like windows around the course to give the appearance that you are being watched and it's not a ghost town. Hell throw in some $$ and make some AAs.
-Longer outdoor scene would add capacity and excitement. Yay go for it.
-Replace the cars. They're over a decade old and nearing end of life.

Very well said TT321. Test Track is my favorite attraction on propriety but it is in bad shape at the moment.

Please just watch, we don't need a long list of all of this. Test Track is still a great attraction, I would love to see the closed caption turned off and the crash test working in some sort of order again. But really I would love to see that sparker working again, that would make the attraction much better!

Take out Mission Space and then put in a fast paced space ride in where test track is now, better yet, the whole building is huge! Use a Kuka Arm ride in their and amaze us. Then do something with Mission Spaces area.

Only TT rumor I heard was that they'd be implementing updated software and hardware that was developed for Radiator Springs Racers into the ride. No real external change but a ground up rebuilding of the communications infrastructure of the attraction.

Considering how far cars have come since they first built TT, I'd just be happy with an update that made you believe you weren't sitting in a late 1990's Chevy chassis.

The crash test scene has changed a few times over the years. I doubt it will return to the original effect because of reliability issues.

LMAO!! Yeah, the vehicles used on that attraction are way past their expiration date, they need to install new cars with a new system that doesn't crash all the time. >.>
But really there are so many small subtle effects that are no longer working that added to the overall believability of the attraction. Just the sparkers and crash test working again would be great. I also like the idea of adding large observation areas where it looks like there are engineers watching the testing. Either use video screens or AA's, either way it would add to the realism of the overall concept of the attraction.
You pretty much hit the nail on the head. The attraction simply looks un-kept and feels incredibly outdated. Even though the attraction is 12 years old it should not look it. Every exterior surface of this attraction needs to be refinished. The cars need a completer exterior overall and the speakers and video systems need to be replaced.

2. Make it more educational and inspiring, like FW's attractions should be. I want to leave the ride with a sense of inspiration and knowledge, unlike when I leave Test Track. I'm not too big a fan of having thrill rides SOLEY for the thrill in EPCOT, doesn't seem right.
3. To help with the above, shorten the showcase for the cars, and make more hands-on exhibits, like ImageWorks and the Mission: Space exit.

As already stated, it primarily needs to be cleaned and repaired so it looks like it did when it opened. I'd also like to see an updated post show area... If it was up to me I'd scrap the whole post show and instead put in new interactive exhibits instead of a giant showroom that most people just walk through. I'd at least replace fuel cell room with a new interactive exhibit...
Other than that, Test Track is still the best ride at Epcot and should remain as is.

I'm guessing one of the stipulations of GM's sponsorship 'is' the showroom at the end of the ride. Personally I love the post show (I'm a GM fan) and I've even been known to just visit the post show. Agreed, the whole exhibit could use a freshening (but hope they keep the showroom at the end).

I would say go in and overhaul the system, it's been 12 years and since then Rocket Rods (ok bad example) and Journey to the Center of the Earth have used similar tech, and Cars land at DCA is using upgraded tech, Test Track is a great area to test bed some of the softwear and hardware upgrades, maybe find a way to enhance the experience at the same time by adding new effects to replace the old and busted ones...
mostly I would just like to see upgrades in hardware and softwear to hence the reliability of the attraction before spending money on other upgrades since thats more important.
