Up next are Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. Those two are going to be a bit harder to think of, each because of a different reason: the former is in such a mess, and the latter I hardly spent any time in, nor cared to either.

If by "mess" you mean it lacks an overarching theme and backstory then I agree.

What is your reason for not liking DAK?

Well, in terms of DAK, it's not so much that I didn't like it. I just never really spent that much time in it, so I can't really think of anything good to add to that.

How can we have a Toontown where the Speedway is? The PeopleMover track passes directly over the Speedway, which is also in plain view of Space Mountain. So if we were to replace the Speedway with Toontown, we would have two very visible distractions, both of which would be very hard to hide. How can possibly make a Toontown in this area?

Ok, so why can't you wall off the current speedway area with pseudo futuristic facades and have toon town on the other side. Looks like there would be plenty of room to do this. And there are plenty of things in plain view that don't match the theme of the area ie Cinderella Castle. I'm not going to say I would do that, but it would appear to work...

Here now is Disney's Hollywood Studios. To start with, this park's studio identity will be played down more and more until it's completely gone. As a result, the park will receive a new name: Disney Hollywood Adventure. Now, onto the park itself (as usual, this list contains only new attractions, whether introduced from scratch or replacing other attractions, not updated attractions; those will be added later):

  • Sunset Boulevard
    • Walt Disney - One Man's Dream: Entertainment King - The "One Man's Dream" attraction at DHS will now be broken up into individual components and scattered to all the parks. In the case of Disney's Hollywood Studios/Disney Hollywood Adventure, the Carthay Circle Theater-themed building will now be the new home of a gallery, the largest of all the OMD galleries in the parks, themed to the history of Walt's movies, television and animation.
  • Echo Lake
    • Indiana Jones Adventure: Another version of the now-classic Indiana Jones ride seen in Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea (replaces the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular).

This is only the first part of Disney's Hollywood Studios/Disney Hollywood Adventure, so there will be more later.

I like this thread. My two cents:

-Get rid of the buses and install PRTs.
-PRTs from the airport as well
-update the design of the monorails.
-somehow wave a magic wand at the contemporary and make it way better
-take out Indy speedway
-improve what you see while on the MK railroad
-add a new land to AK
-a boat from AK lodge to AK
-Don't make DHS a dumping ground.
-re-theme TSMM to something that makes sense for DHS
-re-theme drew carey sounds dangerous
-basically the entire east side of DHS
-X-wing roller coaster at DHS
-bring back alien encounter
-finish the theming of TL to expand out to SM.
-bring back the swan boats in MK
-add a few countries to WS
-rehab Universe of Energy and Wonders of Life
-build an entrance to Soarin on the outside, not inside.
-BRING BACK JEREMY IRONS!

Okay, thanks. I will put up more of Disney Hollywood Adventure later.

I agree, I don't think that park should just be a dumping ground for everything else. Before I had heard about the Fantasyland expansion which was to encroach on Mickey's Toontown Fair, I had my own ideas for that area of the park, including to take the current Toontown Fair and expand it, beyond the train tracks if it became necessary. But then the Fantasyland expansion occurred and things haven't been the same. So now, I have been reduced one park to putting a new Toontown in. DHA seems to be the only logical spot left for it, but I agree that this park should not just be a dumping ground for everything else.

Here are some more new additions/replacements to Disney's Hollywood Studios/Disney Hollywood Adventure:

  • Animation Courtyard
    • The Magic of Disney Animation - The entire attraction will be replaced inside and out. Details yet to be determined.
  • Muppet Plaza
    • Kermit the Frog's Muppet*Vision 4D - A new 3D show to replace "Muppet*Vision 3D". Details yet to be determined.
    • The Great Muppet Movie Ride - Yet another abandoned concept finally sees the light! Take a hilarious trip through the movies, as only the Muppets can do it! Features scenes from "Frankenstein", "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and Disney's own "Peter Pan".

Still more left to do here; I'm having trouble with "The Magic of Disney Animation (hence, this thread here: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=713081) and also what to do with "Sounds Dangerous", "Voyage of the Little Mermaid", "Walt Disney: One Man's Dream" and that Narnia thing. I do, however, have a plan for the Backlot Tour.

Why would you want to replace Jim Henson's Muppet-Vision 3D. It's the last thing Jim Henson ever worked on before he died.

I think the show is tired and needs a refresh. In fact, if you were to look at Screamscape, you would find something about them actually doing something like this:

2013/2014/2015 - MuppetVision 2 - Rumor - (1/24/11) Keep in mind that this concept is only just an idea within the Mouse’s house of ideas with no set timeline. I'm hearing that give the popularity the Muppets are starting to receive once again, WDI is starting to come up with ideas that could be used to make an all new MuppetVision 4D film to replace the old current film which is now 20 years old and revitalize the Muppets attraction once again in California and Florida for the next two decades. I'm told that this idea is one being pitched as part of the second wave of improvements WDI wants to make to California Adventure once they finish the current crop with the opening of Cars Land in 2012. Stay tuned!

So that's pretty much what brought this up.

I think I may have to take a pass on Animal Kingdom, mainly because I am not that familiar with it. I have seen it and heard of it and, yes, even set foot in it, but it's just not one of my most favorite parks. Plus, I'm more biased toward the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, which may explain why I'm moving more slowly with DHS/DHA. So perhaps somebody could help out?

I'm actually working on a "If I could improve Walt Disney World" myself, I just figured I'd wait until I was done with the map to post it, but in mine, DHS includes several new lands,

Hollywoodland (including Hollywood Blvd, Sunset Blvd, and Echo Lake),
Skywalker Studios (Starting at Star Tours and expanding backward, behind ST and Indy),
New York Street,
The Muppet Studios
(from Pizza Plannet (now a Muppet Themed Rest.) to the Hunchback Theatre (now the Muppet Movie Ride)),
The Underworld Set (expanded behind the Muppets and above Skywalker Studios),
and The Backlot (including an expanded Backlot Tour, Mickey Ave, and The Animation Ctyd (now The Production Ctyd).

I've also expanded areas of Sunset Blvd and I'm looking to add Pixar Place but that's proving difficult. Also, if I ran the Studios I'd bring productions back so the place was an actual working movie studio again. I'll probably post more details later, but I'm not looking at doing this from a realistic standpoint, It's more of a "woulda, shoulda, coulda" type thing, so it is a smidge different from yours I suppose. But maybe this'll give you some ideas anyways...

Isn't the Hunchback theater where Lights Motors Action is now? And why do we need a whole land themed to "Star Wars"? Don't you think that might be a little much?

The old Hunchback Theatre curently sits empty I believe. It may be used for storage though I don't know about that for sure. The San Fran backdrop actually covers the front of the theatre if I'm not mistaken, so to answer your question, no, LMA does not use the Hunchback Theatre, but even if it did, if I could improve Walt Disney World LMA wouldn't exist as it does now...

As for a Star Wars land being "too much Star Wars", I have to disagree with you completely (and I have a feeling most on these boards would as well). I believe a Star Wars land would be amazing. Skywalker Studios includes several attractions that the whole family can enjoy set in many of the locations seen in the most sucessful film franchise of all time.
I mean, do you think a Harry Potter land is too much Harry Potter? What about Dinoland...is that too much Dinosaurs?

Now, I don't want to pressure you or make you feel like you have to use any of the ideas i talked about. You just said you were stuck and didn't know where to go with DHS, so I figured I'd throw some ideas out there to see if it would help any of your creative juices flow. If you don't like the idea that's fine, feel free to change it as you wish or to just not use it at all, it's totally up to you.

I think it's Universal's prerogative to use Harry Potter however it wants, but this is Disney here. I think we should be a little more careful of what to do.

If Disney had secured the rights to use Harry Potter in its parks though, would you not want a HP land? I'm just curious. I stand by the SW land though, I'm not even a SW fan and I think that would be simply stunning

If you still need some ideas, what about a Silent Era land where everything is black and white, and walk around characters are painted black and white and wear black and white clothes, and walk all silly like they do in the Silent films, and they don't talk, etc.

Or an attraction themed to Walt Disney's old Zorro show...idk. I'm just kinda thinkin out loud haha.

You said you want ToonTown in DHS, were you thinking a DL clone, or something more like half Maroon Studios, half ToonTown, with several Roger Rabbit rides and a few Mickey M&G's?

Well, maybe we could have some silent characters as streetmosphere performers on Hollywood Boulevard.

As for Toontown, I do want that, but because it's in this park and not a castle park, it's going to be difficult to replicate Disneyland's Toontown without houses. And since it's in a different park, it should look somewhat different. In fact, I even have made a whole thread on the subject: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=715729.
