If and When Apple Buys Disney, Will Parks Finally Improve?

Buying more stake would seem to be the plausible idea. I would like to see some Apple technology throughout the parks. Can't imagine Apple being able to have the funds to completely buy outright. Interesting though...

I should say so!
First, Cinderella's castle would be redone in aluminum and glass because fiberglass is so cheap and unrecyclable.
Next, Jony Ive would redesign the monorail such that it would have no windows and no doors (!) so as not to ruin the design aesthetic. This would also have the benefit of no guests onboard, so no more complaints about trash, stinky cabins or why you paid extra to stay at a "monorail" resort.
There would be a desk in the lobby of each resort called "Disney Genius" who would answer any question with the phrase "you would need to book that 180 days in advance"
The Magic Band would be renamed the iBand, which of course would "just work" - if you need proof this is an improvement, then check out the many threads on this forum named "NextGen failure - WDW DOOMED!"
Epcot's Future World would be completely enclosed and converted into a giant Apple Store.
There would only be one type of park ticket, but it would come in multiple colors.
A new iOS app will be released to allow you to locally dim the bright Florida sun directly over your head, so your family will be more comfortable walking around the parks in August. (An Android version would be released 2 years later)
Your turkey leg, Dole Whip, or Mickey Ice Cream bar may be taken away from you by a cast member because "you're holding it wrong".

All in all, sounds like a place I'd like to go on vacation. :)

Now where's the button I click to "like" my own post?

Would an Apple takeover save us from a future where Jay Rasulo is CEO of TWDC?

That could be a deal breaker...
How does the clown who sold everyone on MyMagic+ get the CEO gig? Asinine.

Would the fact that Steve Jobs' Trust is the single largest owner of Disney stock play a factor in this?
Probably not if Steve Jobs were to ever die. Oh, wait.

I think that may do it with me...I can't stand Apple...you guys think we have seen price hikes at the parks? You haven't seen anything...Apple would raise the prices by a ton...just because.

They make a nice product...but it's not worth what they charge.

Steve Jobs was already the largest shareholder of Disney stock when he was alive...but I don't recall him making many suggestions or changes to the company.

If you think disney rolls out their stuff at a slow rate OMG apple is worse. Their incremental updates are never anything that the competition isnt doing better already. They take zero risks and their devotees are keeping them afloat right now. The future iterations of the iphone are being influenced more by people who left them than their desire to improve their product.

I used an iphone, when they came out, fantastic devices. The last iterations of android are hands down better. The problem with android is that the manufacturers try to put too much of their own twist on it.

And as much of an android fan as I am, I am more so a fan of companies that will spend money to make money. They take a lot of risks but when they hit on something bug, they capitalize on it and constantly improve ad a good pace.

White walls everywhere. Ride systems running out of memory. It would keep with the prices keep rising and stuff ultimately staying the same theme WDW has adopted, though.
This. I use apple products and PCs alongside each other in one of my jobs. The Apple products are non essential to operations, thankfully, they crash multiple times daily. The PCs are critical, and very rarely crash. So I agree with your point. Also, I think it would be financially prohibitive for Apple to do a buyout.

Apple has said that they really want to control the living room, with products such as Airplay, AppleTV, etc., along with the new home automation stuff to back that claim up. This would go a long way towards them securing it, with all of the media rights that would go along with it and bargaining power. The question is, how much do they really want it?

Jobs personally, no. But remember why Apple has a presence at Disney. They came in with Pixar, and they completely changed how Disney does animation.

My Apple systems at work never crash. Meanwhile, the PCs crash all the time. We must live in alternate universes.

Seriously though - I for one welcome our new corporate fruit overlords.
