Ideas for Fantasy Land Expansion Phase 4

How could 101 Dalmations fit with the rest of these attractions? I like the idea, but perhaps for DHS (just 101 Dalmations, if it's still popular enough...)

On the surface, I would agree with that, but why not have a mini-land devoted to dogs and family pets? It could be a great place for people to discover things about rufus that they never knew. Unusual breeds could be on display and they could have an amazing dog show. It's a bit out of the box but, if done well, it could be one of the the most popular areas of the park.

A Lady & The Tramp, 101 Dalmations, Oliver & Co mash-up dark ride (with an entirely new story) could be amazing! Throw in some cameos by the Aristocats and Rescuers and you could have one of the most fun dark rides at WDW.

Robin Hood would be GREAT at DAK. I love Robin Hood. It has become my favorite of the Disney classics.

Too bad they're more interested in Avatar than the properties they already own.

It would be great to have Robin Hood, Alice In Wonderland, Jungle Book and Neverland themed areas somewhere in the parks. I always thought Hook's ship and Skull rock were a couple of the best things at DL (until they were removed). Most of those would be great additions to DAK.

I agree with all of the above.

I think there's a possibility of more expansion eventually.

The most obvious choice is a Beauty and the Beast dark-ride. They'll already have a themed area. All I think it will take is some kind of entrance to a show building located behind the current elements.

I also think WDW has always needed a Alice in Wonderland dark ride. I know the original wasn't one of Walt's favorites, but who cares? The story is still one of the most popular girly type fantasy things there is especially after the huge success of Burton's film. I think it should use the cartoon version as its source material though.

WOW! You have the same idea as I do with the Alice In Wonderland attraction. Actually, I already have anticipated where this might fit in in the New Fantasyland. I have an entire article on this could-be attraction on my site (listed on link in my signature). There are several spots beyond the New Fantasyland borders that still lie within the train circle. I am sure that these areas will be utilized eventually, even taking out the cast member roads and extending the infamous utilitunnels. They HAVE room, but it will take time (after the current expansion) to begin anticipating another expansion of the Magic Kingdom. Afterall, this IS the first expansion since the park opened in 1971... so I would not hold my breath for another anytime soon.

If they wanted to continue the adirondack/woods theme as part of a North America section of DAK, I could see Robin Hood, Fox and the Hound and Bambi themed dark rides/components. I don't really see it happening, but I would definitely approve of a Bambi themed ride amidst various North American attractions featuring live animals.

I agree that Adventure Land needs the attention next. What I think would have always been a great ride would have been something like a dark ride/roller coaster themed to Aladdin's flying carpet, like through the cave of wonders, through Agrabah and then facing Jafar

Kuka arm themed to a magic carpet!! (If you read my posts I'm dying to see a Disney immersive KUKA ride) haha

It would be pretty cool if they would add an 'official' north america area. An area themed to Brother Bear could be added, too, since it is set in Alaska. They could even make yet another mountain, symbolizing "where the lights touch the earth". hey, it could happen..... This area would also add a North American grizzly bear area. DAK don't have any bears... :)

Now that I look at it, it looks so much like everest... oh, well. Just thinking aloud...

What about an animatronic show based on Disney villains? It could begin with Mickey introducing what appears to be a cute little show, only to be shoved aside by the villains, who then take over and perform their signature songs and interact in a darkly comic way. Then at the end the Disney heroes (the counterparts to each villain) appear and defeat them (the Wicked Queen chased off by the 7 Dwarfs, the Maleficent Dragon is slain by the Prince, Jafar is trapped in a lamp, etc.) and all is well again. I'd love to see a show like that. :)

This sounds more like a House of Mouse "dinner and a show" kind of attraction, which would better fit in a revamped DHS.

Gut Philharmagic (3D is not so novel as to warrant an attraction solely based on 3D FX anymore) and give us an expanded PPF incorporating that space. And it should be an E-Ticket on par with the Haunted Mansion.

How's that?

Hmmm...I like your idea about the PPF expansion - in fact, PPF should be expanded AND majorly plussed. It has great potential as a Forbidden-Journey type ride. But gut Philharmagic??? NO!!!! I love that attraction. It has the most "Disney" feel of anything in the parks IMO. It too should be majorly plussed, especially in the area of its 3D quality. It's pretty shabby compared to the crystal-clear 3D in the new Star Tours.

Perhaps they could relocate Philharmagic to a new Toontown at DHS where it would better fit the surroundings in which it is located. Because it is really out of place where it is currently located.

But yes, Disney could incorporate some of the tech as seen in FJ in a plussed PPF. Great idea. It is a franchise worth the investment for the MK.

I hope the land still left in fantasyland is fOr sleeping beauty. I just find it unfair that it has no home in fantasyland. Movies like peter pan
pinnochio, Cinderella, Sleeping beauty, Bambi, and Alice in wonderland should have presence in FL and if it already does it should have more. The problem is their is no room. Hopefully sleeping beauty gets something soon. Mabey where the speedway is.

Belle's village and the Little Mermaid ride kind of close off that option. and the Speedway could make room, but not that much... Beauty and the Beast dark ride would be perfect, but something for Tangled wouldn't hurt. normally i'd suggest a ride for Princess and the Frog, but since it's New Orleans themed, i'd say change Liberty Square to New Orleans Square and theme the area after PatF

Yes, I would love a New Orleans themed area like DL. Re-theme Liberty Square is a perfect spot for it!! They could make Liberty Tree Tavern into a good Cajun/Creole restaurant, find a home for Tiana, and the Hall of Presidents, and Riverboat fit in perfectly (they wouldn't have to change that).

If they can make that road between the tents and LM into a reasonably sized path for guests, then that area certainly could be utilized. It's not huge, but could provide a nice subland. My suggestions for such a space...

1. Pixie Hollow. The entrance way could be easily themed to large blades of grass and "Shrinking down to Pixie size" and you could not only have a Pixie M&G but maybe a ride or two to go with the requisite shop and food. It would get Tink out of the odd location in Adventureland.

2. A (hopefully better executed) reboot of Toontown. Perhaps something themed to "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse". Or even just a copy of the Anaheim Toontown minus the Gadget Go Coaster (I don't see the big deal with Mickey having a house in both places, he has a house in Tokyo as well). If you go with this, you can also put a train stop at the upper left corner of the area for more access.

Would be nice to see more expansion of the park and increase the capacity.

After going to DL and seeing how compact and full the Fantasyland there is, I do long to see that kind of density of attractions in Florida. I'm not sure what the aversion is for packing the park with rides, even smaller ones. Anyone, it seems that once the FLE is done, we will have a significant amount of food places in Fantasyland with the addition of BoG and Gaston's Tavern plus whatever the food service under the third tent in the Circus (contrast it to DL Fantasyland which only has Village Haus and the currently closed Troubadour Tavern).

So, on that note, why don't they replace WDW's Village Haus with an actual Pinocchio ride (i.e. a copy or update of Pinocchio's Daring Journey) which would go perfectly "inside the castle walls" at that location. The footprint of the Village Haus would mostly accommodate it, with some expansion into the backstage area behind the Village Haus/IASW. It's also not far (in the other direction) from Columbia Harbor House in terms of food options so it's not like it's a totally necessary food location; you'd probably need to open up the Friar's Nook year round which I would think would be possible.

I know it's a pipe dream to see TDO convert something that is moneymaking into a ride, but it would just would make for a nice addition and bring back some of the nostalgic aspects of Fantasyland. Given the size of Fantasyland, especially post-FLE, it's sad that they have as few attractions as they do. They just don't seem to utilize space as efficiently as they could.

This sounds somewhat similar to Fantasmic!
