Ideas for Fantasy Land Expansion Phase 4

Bambi needs something, although I have no clue what it would be and there really needs to be a Princess and the Frog and Tangled Ride!

I have thought that Bambi -- and other animal based franchises -- would fit in better in the Animal Kingdom. Some sort of "Critter Country" with dark rides, M&Gs and attractions based on Disney cartoons like Bambi, Jungle Book, Pocahontas, Mr. Toad, Lady & the Tramp, 101 Dalmations, The Aristocats, etc. would be great.

Yeah, if Camp Minnie Mickey was staying I could see an indoor/outdoor family C-ticket ride for Bambi, or even something of a larger scope that included real life animals outside and then their cartoon counterparts inside.

My idea would help Fantasyland and Tomorrowland: build a mountain where the Speedway is now. You could go under the mountain to get from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland; that would help that terrible transition immensely. The mountain would hold one Tomorrowland ride (probably a coaster) and one Fantasyland ride (coaster or a two level dark ride). You could even theme the rockwork so that it looks different depending on which land you're in. I was thinking the Tomorrowland side could have Kryptonite-esque glowing green rocks.

so i'm looking at the Magic Kingdom map to see if you could even fit a mountain-esque thing there, stupid me thinking the Speedway was small as heck. there is enough room to make more than just a mountain in its spot. the mountain could be like called Witch Mountain, in honor of the old Disney movie Escape To Witch Mountain

someone mentioned they'd like to see a Wonderland-themed area, well that place Speedway is at could like have it fit there as well.

i suggested this before, a North America or camp ground styled area in Animal Kingdom would be so cool, and it could be inspired by Pocahontas and Bambi.

also, an area with Rapunzel's tower and little sing along show with her and a nighttime show with the lanterns would do well in representing Tangled. i think Liberty Square should be rethemed to New Orleans Square and replace Liberty Tree Tavern with Tiana's Place and right next to it have a bayou themed dark ride attraction for Princess and the Frog

I think they should remove the Speedway at Disney World and put a Cars Land driving attraction instead over at Disney Hollywood Studios in place of the current backlot attraction. This way they could reboot the car stunt show if needed to be more Cars themed at the studios. If they added the Cars Land attraction it would be very popular like in California and would be great for the entire family. It would be a nice Disney movie theme and could be a nice addition to Pixar Place attractions at Disney Studios that they hopefully will add like the Monster's Inc Coaster ride.

The room left from the current Speedway could be used for a Tomorrowland expansion or possibly a shared Circus Land expansion of a Pinocchio dark ride attraction and a Tomorrowland TRON attraction.

I think there's a possibility of more expansion eventually.

The most obvious choice is a Beauty and the Beast dark-ride. They'll already have a themed area. All I think it will take is some kind of entrance to a show building located behind the current elements.

I also think WDW has always needed a Alice in Wonderland dark ride. I know the original wasn't one of Walt's favorites, but who cares? The story is still one of the most popular girly type fantasy things there is especially after the huge success of Burton's film. I think it should use the cartoon version as its source material though.

I agree this is an awesome idea but I can't picture them expanding even more until at least 2016, 17', 18' or after that. I could see them doing an Alice in Wonderland Dark Ride but I feel like they'd have to make another boy relateable ride because they just built the voyage of the little mermaid and a huge Belle themed area. Also I think that I'd personnally want to see a Tommorrowland Revamp before another Fantasyland Revamp.

They already are building a Tangled Meet & Greet with a tower on the pathway to fantasyland from liberty square. But I love your other ideas I mean they already have Main Street USA. How much America can you put in a park?

I really want Tiana to have a permanent home in the Magic Kingdom some place. Ideally, I'd love a rethemeing of TSI to the Bayou, but I understand that is never going to happen. I just want something from PatF, I really think it has SO much potential in the parks.

oh i didn't know about the Meet & Greet, cool!

and my thoughts exactly, i always felt that Liberty Square was just like... there, in between Frontierland and Fantasyland. like they can keep Hall of Presidents, that show is always a must see whenever there's a new president in the country, many people go to hear the new president animatronic's speech. and obvious they should keep the Haunted Mansion and the Liberty Boat, but change everything else.

A shooting range?

I'm all for new facades to replace the faire look. Not just because of the missing detail but the courtyard needs a more colorful front. I can imagine them designing a facade that incorporates the castle walls behind the individual "houses". This would put WDW's FL up to par with DL and DLP but still give it its own flavor.

Hmmm...it seems I've heard that someplace before....

As I said in another thread, a Cars "Race Around The World" circling the LMA theater and taking up a bit of the backlot would be just what the doctor ordered. Have it be an updated version of the Indy Speedway, with electric cars themed to the cars in the movie, and then you could re-purpose the Speedway at MK for something else. It would also be different enough from DCA that they'd both have something unique. And, this version wouldn't cost nearly as much as Radiator Springs Racers.

I would love this too!!!!!!

Robin Hood would be GREAT at DAK. I love Robin Hood. It has become my favorite of the Disney classics.

Too bad they're more interested in Avatar than the properties they already own.

It would be great to have Robin Hood, Alice In Wonderland, Jungle Book and Neverland themed areas somewhere in the parks. I always thought Hook's ship and Skull rock were a couple of the best things at DL (until they were removed). Most of those would be great additions to DAK.

I would actually rather have it behind little mermaind and beast areas. I think that if they wanted to they could expand more my making a path from where gastons tavern is to the third tent.

But I don't think its neccesary, i think the fantasyland expansion is going to be great on its own.

I've thought of a DAK "Critter Country" being something like this:

1. Bambi dark ride: Classic "take you through the story"
2. Pocahontas and her forest friends: Return of the old show (which was stopped due to tourism dip IIRC, not because there was anything wrong with it)
3. Chip 'N Dale Treehouse Meet N' Greet: A treehouse themed meet and greet feating Chip and Dale in one area and a rotating group of animal characters in another room
4. Mowgli's Journey: a longer ride featuring the life and trials of Mowgli from The Jungle Book with some fun (Baloo) and scary (Shere Khan and Kaa) parts. I'm picturing something more akin to Splash Mountain than a typical dark ride. This would be the big ticket ride
5. A children's ride themed to 101 Dalamatians: I'm picturing something where you are in white with black spots vehicles chasing after each other

Add a quick serve restaurant and you have a nice, compact land that increases capacity but wouldn't cost a ton but would keep in the theme of the park and be very Disney. I'm thinking a good location would be on the west side of the park in between Africa/new FotLK and above Pandora -- there's already a CM bridge to that area and it would be a good transition from the real animals of Africa to the fictional ones of Pandora.

How could 101 Dalmations fit with the rest of these attractions? I like the idea, but perhaps for DHS (just 101 Dalmations, if it's still popular enough...)
