Ideas for Fantasy Land Expansion Phase 4

I think there's a possibility of more expansion eventually.

The most obvious choice is a Beauty and the Beast dark-ride. They'll already have a themed area. All I think it will take is some kind of entrance to a show building located behind the current elements.

I also think WDW has always needed a Alice in Wonderland dark ride. I know the original wasn't one of Walt's favorites, but who cares? The story is still one of the most popular girly type fantasy things there is especially after the huge success of Burton's film. I think it should use the cartoon version as its source material though.

One thing I noticed when looking at the aerial views is that if they ever were to close/change the Speedway that it could free up room for a smallish ride between the Tea Cups and Dumbo. There is some track that loops right into that area.

Regardless of that, it seems to me that the Fantasyland Forest area around the mine train should have enough room for another attraction. I'm surprised a dark ride themed to something appropriate (like Tangled or Sleeping Beauty) wasn't planned because something like that now would be easy with all the construction, but doing so later would be a hassle and require walls to go back up.

The issue with anymore "expansion" is that FL is pretty landlocked. There's the space to the north but, ridding it of the swamp would be pricey. Plus, the way they constructed belle's village, it would be a bottleneck to get in and out of that space. Your only real spot for something to go would be where the tents are. And those certainly aren't disappearing anytime soon.

I'd like to see the speedway go, if for no other reason than the fact that its the ugliest version out there. However, I'd hope that the space would be re-purposed for either a new land or for more TL expansion. Adding to FL would be awkward, given how the teacups and Dumbo were constructed. You'd be better to either add a new transitional land (I'd prefer a new Mysterious Island ) or utilize it for more Tomorrowland space.

I think our best bets for new things in FL are a revamped PPF and maybe updated film segments for Philharmagic.

First thing...Speedway has to go, not that is a horrible attraction but let us be honest it is way out of place in tomorrow land and as it is currently themed out of place in Fantasy Land. If they turned the speedway into something from Cars that would tie into FL. I like the idea of creating a transitional mini land in that spot, what a great location to put a villains themed area...maybe some sort of dark ride through Disney Villains...I am thinking maybe they could create some story where we can visit Malificent, Jafar, Ursula, Scar, The Queen of hearts, Captain Hook, etc, etc. In reading these boards I have seen a clamoring for something themed to the Villains no reason something cannot go in that space to address that. I bet you could put two buildings in that spot, one for the Dark Ride and one for another smaller theater for a show of some type.

I'd like to see a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse area in place of the racers. I think it would be a good transition between FL and TL. It could be a play land for the little ones. Inside the clubhouse they could put interactive games and bring Mickey and the gang back to there own area.

Belle's village and the Little Mermaid ride kind of close off that option. and the Speedway could make room, but not that much... Beauty and the Beast dark ride would be perfect, but something for Tangled wouldn't hurt. normally i'd suggest a ride for Princess and the Frog, but since it's New Orleans themed, i'd say change Liberty Square to New Orleans Square and theme the area after PatF

I think if you did do a Fantasyland phase 4 you would have to end of reconfiguring a lot of the area. There is a ton of wasted space. I think the first thing to be bulldozed would be the back half of Storybook along with the Barnstormer. Dumbo could easily be rethemed.

If they were to ever create another area I think it would have to be for Sleeping Beauty if you are going with the princess theme. Otherwise maybe a villians attraction would be a nice change of pace.

I agree that Adventure Land needs the attention next. What I think would have always been a great ride would have been something like a dark ride/roller coaster themed to Aladdin's flying carpet, like through the cave of wonders, through Agrabah and then facing Jafar

Great idea...this could be a real "E-Ticket" if done right!

that's so cool!

and a WDW version of Indiana Jones wouldn't hurt

Instead of just putting an Alice attraction there they should make it a very small area themed to Alice. It could have the teacups and an updated more technologically advanced dark ride based on the animated Alice and the whole area around it they could recreate wonderland!

While it is extremely fun to dream - I think Disney is counting on the new Fasntasyland satisfying us for the next decade or so. I think the most we can hope for is perhaps a re-themed attraction where Stitch is now, and maybe an updating to Peter Pan. Fasntasyland was a project to increase capacity. Now that they will have it - I think they will be happy just collecting the cash from the park, without concern of phased closings during the holidays...

My idea would help Fantasyland and Tomorrowland: build a mountain where the Speedway is now. You could go under the mountain to get from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland; that would help that terrible transition immensely. The mountain would hold one Tomorrowland ride (probably a coaster) and one Fantasyland ride (coaster or a two level dark ride). You could even theme the rockwork so that it looks different depending on which land you're in. I was thinking the Tomorrowland side could have Kryptonite-esque glowing green rocks.
