That looked so dated, like so 90's. Why didn't they repaint that like 20 years ago? Like OMG...

Funny how there was no outcry about the colors on the entry arches being "outdated" when they repainted them.

Please don’t bring logic. They don’t want to hear it. I’m not a duster….at all….but people are acting silly.

I don't see the meltdowns about this everyone else is seeing.

People are expressing they may have liked the current signage more (myself included because I find it more cheerful/whimsical), but I'm not seeing the breakdown of humanity that we often see on other threads.

In the end, nothing we can do anyways!

The old scheme also had Mickey "appearing" as you went along. I think they removed those over time, however.

They could have done something cool, like the did 30 years back (or like they did recently to SSE!), but they didn't. Just another missed opportunity.

While it's difficult to find older photos of the signs with Mickey peeking. I found this photo when Walt's Plane landed at Walt Disney World sometime in the mid 1990s. I wish there was more photos of signs like that from this period.

I didn't even reach "Irked".

My highest level I ever reached about something was angered and I sent an email.

I would say some others reached Perturbed bordering on Angered for boardwalk group, but I didn't see any BEYOND.

There’s a lot we haven’t seen yet, like what happens to signs like these which incorporate turquoise and have a very 90s shape to them? I think once these get replaced we can have much fuller opinions.

And like others have mentioned, I would very much like one of the signs, and I’d pay a good price.

I’m curious also if they’ll add any supplementary colours in addition to the blue/gold for these instances.

I am perturbed about the boardwalk and on “wait and see” for the signs. Have to see how they handle the whole way finding package first, but if it is done consistently and properly, could be a nice update.

Yeah I will cut them some slack. WDW is getting more legit winter weather at the moment. I'll wait to see costumes when it isn't cold enough to snow.

Because that's not the 90s color palette, like the one that TTA just got over.

The 90's palette is large blocks in which each color is saturated.

The yellow on the archway, however, is muted and lightened, or, made into gold.

The solid purple and teal are not large blocks, but accent lines or small flags.

The purple behind M&M has been given a pattern to keep it from being a large block of purple.

The red of the 'bricks' is muted and slightly darkened (more like firehouse red).

The bright and saturated red only exists in the font of the name so that it stands out, and on M&M, so they stand out.

The blue has been lightened. The font on the blue banner has a black outline for greater legibility (in the new signs, the yellow text on the light blue should also have gotten a black outline).

So, this is why the "purple set" of the old signs looked like the 90s color scheme that TTA most recently had. And this is why the new archway is far superior.

Because the arches and especially the entrance were much much uglier and more clearly dated.
