It's supposed to snow here tomorrow... sometime in the afternoon it's supposed to start - from what I've heard, not more than 1.5 inches...

Dang...

And we have three tests tomorrow too...

:p

Our roads freeze...we don't get lots of snow, we get ice.

I just saw Charlotte on the news on the weather channel! What a coincidence! They were talking about the ice on the road and that it caused major trouble today. ;)

That's cool! I knew the Weather Channel was here today, but I didn't know the extent of their coverage!

Many of our main bridges sorrounding the city are now closed, and should remain closed until at least Friday, according to the transportation department, and the police.

We are lucky to still have power this morning...our neighbor has a huge tree crushing his house, and we don't have cable!!!

I just heard on the news that 1.6 million out of 2.2 million Duke power customers do not have power right now. We are very lucky to have power as well.

Just a few houses up and way into the city there is no power. Our company has a Blown transformer so we were closed today and tomorrow until it is repaired. We do have many many trees fallen and when driving Wendy to work the gas stations were jammed with people getting kerosene, we are so fortunate.

I'm glad to see you guys still have power! A snow day/ice day with power is a nice break...without it, it's horrible!

My son has only seen snow at ski resorts; I've tried to explain to him that it's very different if you HAVE to get anywhere in it!!! (My daughter called to say it's been snowing in PA all night and day...wait until she discovers that it continues until April!)

North Carolina is in a state-of-emergency right now, with around 1.2 million people without power.

Shelters and hotels in the area are filled to capacity.

I'm one of the few with power here in Apex, just SW of Raleigh. My parents don't have any, my in-laws don't, my grandmother doesn't. We have a house-full right now.

Outside it's almost surreal. Ice covering everything, though it's starting to melt now. Some places are beautiful and some are just devastated. It's like a tornado or hurricane has gone through. Huge trees down, sometimes on cars or even through houses. Power and phone lines down lying across the roads. No stoplights are working. Nothing's open (well, my office is open  ) It's amazing how the weather can just completely shut everything down.

OMG... I´m so sorry to hear about al these! :(

I guess you have it worse than us with the hurricanes... at least we don´t get them every year and for the whole winter!

If it makes you feel a little better, it is raining here, with cold and kinda strong winds.... such a sad day! bbbrrrr!

My internet hook up is finally back! The ice storm was terrible last week. We had no electricity, heat or running water for almost 3 days. The sad news is that some of my coworkers are still without power. Apparently there have already been some deaths reported, mainly from CO poisoning. I'm sure there'll be more when the smoke finally clears. Keep praying for those that are still stuck in the cold!
