Trip Report Ice cream, BTMRR challenge and a Magical time .....Completed

Hi and welcome.

I’ve been home from our trip a week now and the cold, wet UK weather is depressing me so I’m going to get this TR started.

For those of you who have joined me before you’ll know I’m a bit mad on Disney - like everyone here I know but I literally just can’t get enough and really absorb every second of my time in the world. I also insist on ice cream every day when on holiday so expect ice cream photos along the way.

So the details.....

Myself and my husband Chris

This was our 23rd visit to the world with all stays being 14 days or more with the exception of our special bonus March trip this year. It had been 229 days since I stepped out of the world and I was so ready to go back.

We left on the UK on 7th November and were scheduled to leave America on 21st November - (more on that Later as there were a few bumps along the way)

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside (home) - all trips to Disney except my extra March trip have been here. I love Riverside, it’s just so peaceful after hectic days in the park and it had been a whole year since I had been here.

Isn’t it beautiful?

And as for the rest of the TR title those of you who follow @Tuvalu TR’s will know she tags me in the BTMRR pictures. We both have a love for the ride and I curiously asked her how many times in a year she thinks she rides. So we’ve been counting and having a friendly challenge even though I thought I would never stand a change of winning it’s going to be fun to see how it turns out.

I managed to get an additional trip in this year during March and ended that trip on 7 rides (so maybe there was hope for me to win). @Tuvalu is there now though and is currently on 18 rides for the year........ So how many did I end up at?

So let’s get this started.......

That ice cream looks so good - peppermint ice cream is one of my favorite flavors 😀

It was yummy... and I’ve never seen that one before.

I thought I was the only one who did this!!! :D

Yay someone else who does this! We even look at each other and mouth “not yet” - do you do that too?
We’ve been doing it for years now but never seen anyone else do it but maybe we wouldn’t as we are looking left and right ourselves :D

Friday 9th Nov cont....

So I last left you with ice cream - I am relieving that ice cream right now and wishing for sunshine instead of the dark clouds outside my window (while I should be working - but I won’t tell if you don’t)

We had also just left MK - from memory I think it was about 1pm - Chris had questioned my decision to leave at this time given it would only be an hour before the parade but within our plans I couldn’t see another time I would want to go to Disney Springs and while I didn’t need to shop we did need to collect a $200 gift card that we had been given as part of our booking package and given the cost of this holiday I was having all that was rightfully mine.

We decided to take a quick walk to the food court for a drink and to check out a possible golf game for Chris at concierge.

It’s so beautiful....

We didn’t get th golf game organised as Chris was playing alone they could only book a few days beforehand so we had to go back the following day to check availability or phone them from the room.

We headed back to the room, picked up some water and the car keys and we were off

It was 2.18 and 95 degrees!

We parked in the lime garage and headed straight to the World of Disney - it certainly is more open but I do miss some of the characters they used to have on the central posts - I wonder where they ended up as I could accommodate some in my house! :D

We took a quick look into Art of Disney, the pin shop, the co op and a shop I forget the name of but it had this picture of my main man and the other love of my life!

But at $45,000 I can’t afford it!
Clearly some people can as a few of the paintings had sold signs on them.

We had FP to get so we left from Disney Springs straight to Epcot.

We were greeted with this beautiful view

We dashed to LWTL and were around 2 mins late for our FP,

We then headed to FP no 2 Test track and then headed for a wander around the cpuntries with our main aim being a popcorn bucket with maple popcorn from Canada - that popcorn is so nice!

And to wash it down - an American dream - slushy drink and ice cream

We were tired at this point so we started to head to our last FP spaceship earth - as the first ride ever riden in Disney this one has a special place in our hearts.

Following our ride we headed home to bed.

Next up Busch gardens - I know it’s not in Disney! But we haven’t been for years and as we did get extra days in Disney during March and we are saving Universal for next year we thought we’d have a couple of days elsewhere - but do not fear after our days off site we still got back to the park for some Disney Magic afterwards.........

Forgot to say I bought these candles with some of our non house keeping money while in the co op at Disney Springs.

I bought one last November and they really do make the whole house smell lovely. I normally use Yankee candles but I actually think these are better!

If you love a candle certainly check these out. I think it was 2 for $38

Good point - I’ve never considered what I would do if I went somewhere cold (I would probably just have ice cream anyway)

I agree

You still got to go to MK though...
Glad you got to the candlelight procession too - I saw long queues for that one and surprised you didn’t see @Tuvalu
And I know it shouldn’t have but the comment about pee and you using the drier just made me chuckle - sorry

I know tell me about it!

better late than never thanks for joining. And all will be revealed as we progress through the report and there are plenty of ice cream pictures to come.

It is ok that it made you chuckle. It made my wife and I laugh pretty good. She says I can't hold my daughter right because this is the second time it has happened.

I don't remember what my 1st ever Disney ride was (I was a child and that was a long time ago) but Chris's 1st ever ride was SE, he wasn't into Disney before we met so I thought he would think it was a rubbish ride and what had I dragged him all the way to Florida for as a 1st impression, thankfully he loved it and was amazed, now we always try to make it our 1st ride of the holiday.

I'm here-a little late, but I'm following along! I'm loving your photos!

Thank you and welcome

You were so lucky to go as a child.
I’m glad Chris liked it too, we obviously did and it just started our Disney experience and memories. We’ve never looked back....

Saturday 10th Nov

I woke up today with my nose streaming
Oh no, I was on holiday and felt poorly. It’s been years since I’ve had a cold and I had one on its way (and when I finished my March trip this year I was poorly too)

I wasn’t too worried as I don’t do any of the really big rides and thought I could probably spend the majority of the day sitting in the sun waiting for Chris.

So we continued with the plan for today - we were going to Busch gardens but first feed a cold, starve a fever - right?

Golden Corral it was! We were in for our breakfast budget at 8am - but we weren’t the first!

Crispy American bacon - yum

We finished breakfast and were on the road and on the way - I spy a hidden Mickey

Nearly there

We arrived at the park around 10.20pm (the park was opened at 10am)

Not quite a Disney sign is it?

DEF485E5-C866-4383-BAE5-ACA15660E46F.jpeg

We parked the car and walked to the entrance - they have a funny little train type thing you can take but after the drive we wanted to walk. (Sorry no picture)

We picked up our map (we don’t need one of those in Disney!) we walked and looked at the same time trying to decide where to go.

We stumbled upon an alligator presentation and feeding session. They were feeding them whole fish.

We decide the best course of action would be to go on the cable car to allow us to see the park from above to get our bearings.

We halve been to Busch gardens before but it was a fair few years ago and things had changed.

The cable car was a nice ride and it even goes between the cheetah run ride (which we never managed to get on as the queue was too lon)

We stumbled upon this guy as we exited - his enclosure wasn’t like anything in Disney either (I know I shouldn’t compare but this guy needed more room!)

Chris was heading here..... Kumba

I stood and waited - trying to take pictures of him on the ride!

If you look closely I caught him on all 3 of these pictures (and took them through wire)

I couldn’t believe when I looked back at them that I actually managed to capture him on the ride..

Although I was sniffing, and blowing my way around, feeling really rough it was warm and this became a welcome cool down

As this ride goes across the water there is a splash that soaks all the children - they were loving it (and were cooling down in the process)

I spotted Chris on the ride so I present another picture - I’m quite chuffed with this one too - from a fast moving ride....

I do like sprinkles......
