Trip Report Ice cream, BTMRR challenge and a Magical time .....Completed

Hi and welcome.

I’ve been home from our trip a week now and the cold, wet UK weather is depressing me so I’m going to get this TR started.

For those of you who have joined me before you’ll know I’m a bit mad on Disney - like everyone here I know but I literally just can’t get enough and really absorb every second of my time in the world. I also insist on ice cream every day when on holiday so expect ice cream photos along the way.

So the details.....

Myself and my husband Chris

This was our 23rd visit to the world with all stays being 14 days or more with the exception of our special bonus March trip this year. It had been 229 days since I stepped out of the world and I was so ready to go back.

We left on the UK on 7th November and were scheduled to leave America on 21st November - (more on that Later as there were a few bumps along the way)

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside (home) - all trips to Disney except my extra March trip have been here. I love Riverside, it’s just so peaceful after hectic days in the park and it had been a whole year since I had been here.

Isn’t it beautiful?

And as for the rest of the TR title those of you who follow @Tuvalu TR’s will know she tags me in the BTMRR pictures. We both have a love for the ride and I curiously asked her how many times in a year she thinks she rides. So we’ve been counting and having a friendly challenge even though I thought I would never stand a change of winning it’s going to be fun to see how it turns out.

I managed to get an additional trip in this year during March and ended that trip on 7 rides (so maybe there was hope for me to win). @Tuvalu is there now though and is currently on 18 rides for the year........ So how many did I end up at?

So let’s get this started.......

With the parade finished we headed to the Speedway.
See I know Chris really wants a convertible when he gets home.

We wanted to get our Sorcerers cards but the key didn’t work,So we got it fixed, played a few windows, collected our cards and the decided to head back to room.

There was a MVMCP tonight so we knew that come 4pm the park would get busier so our plan was to leave at this time and just have an easy 1st day.

We got back to the room and within around half hour had already made the decision to go back out and not waste our time in the room........

we managed to get a Soarin fast pass for 8.05pm.

When we got in the car to leave it was still 85 degrees out.

Once at Epcot we got a meal to share and sat outside in the warm with a view looking at the fountain of nations.
We had a conversation at how nice this was chillin outside, eating in Disney all by ourselves.

Food in our bellies we went for a walk around the countries and then headed back to Soarin. We didn’t book any FP for Soarin this trip - I’m not keen on the new film so can actually take it or leave it now so I was content to at least be able to tick that one off.....

We then jumped on LWTL - there is something about that ride that I do enjoy. I remember the first time riding and how educational this ride is.

We didn’t quite make it all the way to world showcase for the fireworks but we did stop to watch.

We walked further towards the exit for the finale and watched over the fountain of nations.
I just wish they would play the music out of world showcase too as I had to sing to myself (and that’s never good)

Despite being really tired we sang our way out to “hailer shailor” music (as we call it) from tapestry of nations years ago.

When we got in the car we looked like this! Knackered

We were back at the room and in bed just after 9.30pm - we were high on our first day of Disney but we’re asleep by 10pm.

Chris wants a convertible?
In England!!

How many days per year would you actually be able to put the top down???

JK

Max

No I don’t think he does really - I was just joking as I have a convertible and he jokes with me about it like you have here.... whilst on the speedway I did say to him how nice it would be with constant sunshine.

But this year was lovely and warm and he was hot in his car (he would say he was cool with the A/C) but I was driving about getting a suntan most of the summer :)

With the change in weather everywhere anything is possible nowadays though.

A bit late, but following. It's a good thing you go to warm places like Florida when you are on vacation, because ice cream everyday in Alaska would not be fun, or where I live right now in Pennsylvania. :coldfeet::hilarious:

Thank you - welcome

So jealous you get to go this weekend. I can only dream. Have fun.
And all will be revealed on the BTMRR rides.....

I'm still sitting on 5 :(. While I was in the MK Saturday a BTMRR wasn't in the cards. We got there a little late and were unable to snatch up a FP at anytime. We did manage to see some of John Stamos at the candlelight processional though, until my daughter somehow managed to pee out of her diaper and on to me as I was holder her. I half expected @Tuvalu to be right behind me or walk in to the men's restroom at the American Pavillion is WS just to see me drying the pee off of me using the dryer. (Not my proudest moment) Since she gets to see the most wacky things at Disney.

Friday 9th Nov - day 2

Surprise surprise - due to jet lag I was awake early again around 5am.
I think I probably just checked emails and watched TV for a bit.
I couldn’t seem to get the weather channel to work, there was a broken picture the whole time we were there :(. Such a shame as I like watching as in the UK we get about 2 mins at the end of the news - not a whole channel.

We were In the MK by just after 8am for EMH - we followed the crowds to queue 7DMT but they were guessing an hour wait so yet again we aborted in the hope to get on more rides during the EMH rather than wasting it all in a queue.

So we headed to Pooh, then buzz twice and then headed to BTMRR (ride number 2 for the trip and 9 for the year)

Obviously in the back row....

Splash Mountain is such a fun ride. Such a good story and not just a boat on water.
I love riding - Chris on the other hand wasn’t keen to get wet - even though it was hot out.....

As we entered we had the opportunity to get a zip loc bag.
I had read about this on the news part of this forum but had forgotten and was pleasantly surprised. They were pretty good bags and I may have taken a couple more than I needed.

A great thing for my memories scrapbook...

It’s funny many a time we’ve got wetter here than on the main drop.

We tried to get a selfie with the sign in the back, didn’t quite manage it.

Although slightly wet we were ready for food so we took a slow walk to the Columbia Harbour House and got ourselves this view to eat our lunch

4DE02298-3EAE-4DF0-97DA-C1A597DEA644.jpeg

We then headed towards Under the sea with Ariel but it was closed so only 1 thing left to do - find ice cream.

We arrived at Storybook treats for ice cream - there were a few things on the list I wanted but I would still have time to tick them off the list so i settled for a Peppermimt sundae.
This ice cream was so refreshing - the straw candy was a snack in itself. We both declared this one really nice and something we haven’t had in Disney before - I think it must have been a Xmas special maybe?

We loved our ice creams sitting in the sun......... I didn’t eat all my straw as it was very strong peppermint and all I really wanted was the ice cream.

We did a few sorcerer windows so we could collect some more cards and then headed out of MK as we had other plans for this afternoon.

To be continued.......

But at least I leave you tonight with ice cream...

Good point - I’ve never considered what I would do if I went somewhere cold (I would probably just have ice cream anyway)

Blasphemy! It doesn't matter where you live... Ice Cream daily is good!

I agree

You still got to go to MK though...
Glad you got to the candlelight procession too - I saw long queues for that one and surprised you didn’t see @Tuvalu
And I know it shouldn’t have but the comment about pee and you using the drier just made me chuckle - sorry

Finally here! I can't believe your entire trip has come and gone again :arghh:
You seriously need to reconsider that whole... "living in the UK" thing ;)

I know tell me about it!

I'm late but following along, anxiously awaiting to see who wins the BTMRR challenge! And also to see all the ice cream pics!

better late than never thanks for joining. And all will be revealed as we progress through the report and there are plenty of ice cream pictures to come.
