IASW refurb- devastated!

I've just seen about the refurb- and it's basically the exact length of our stay at WDW :cry: I'm completely gutted as it's my first trip back for 6 years, and my DS's first ever trip. I really wanted it to be his first ride, as it's so quintessentially Disney :( I've even been showing him YouTube videos of the ride & he loves it.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what his first ride should be now? We'll still be spending our first day in MK.

I just read that news myself. I'll be there from 12/7 till 12/14, so at least I can catch it on my last day in the parks.

As far as what your son's first ride should be.....Dumbo or Winnie the Pooh would be good choices.

I'm so sorry...it's really hard to replicate the magic of IASW. It's definitely one of my faves...hence my 40th bday cake design. While it's not the same, Tiki Room and CoP give me some of that nostalgia magic as well.

Depends what time you're arriving at the park. If its first thing in the morning, maybe Dumbo and Peter Pan. If you're arriving later, I'd go with the Tiki Birds. :)

I love IASW, too. :) Sorry you'll miss it. :(

We will miss Pan too, but no one except me seems too bothered in our family.

So sorry you will miss Small World. My DD at 6 is still looking forward to this one more than any other when we are there.

As a replacement 1st ride my DS says Buzz, and my DD suggests Pooh. Have a good trip anyway.

Dumbo! :) My DH and I have been to Disney many times. And we have not been lucky enough to have kids yet. And after all the times of going to WDW, we have never rode Dumbo. We are saving that for our first trip with our child some day. :)
