For those of you who don't know who Pete Docter is (most of you probably know him), he directed Monster's Inc. and Up. I wrote to him telling him how his films, and Pixar films inspire me to be creative. (I'm going to school for Filmmaking and writing for Film). The letter was about a page and a half long, it was written from the heart to be completely honest. Not many people supported my choice of major and I took a lot of criticism. I told him how much their films really meant to me and how I really care about them in a special way. I really do love their films. I told him about my love for everything Disney. Mostly I just thanked him. I thanked him for making their films. I thanked him for showing that Hollywood still had creative minds in it. All their films hold a special place in my heart. I went on vacation, never really expected anything back, and when I looked through the mail pile I saw a letter from Pixar Animation Studios. I was absolutely shocked. I quickly opened the letter and found this. http://i27.tinypic.com/16ljoko.jpg I was left absolutely speechless by it. I never thought I'd get a response (not to mention that quickly). I will be framing the letter. It has given me such joy. Pixar has been my crutch throughout this process of my choice in life. Their films inspire me a lot. Thanks Mr. Docter. What a class act.
